How do you clean your polished wooden floorboards?
I have a couple of ways but they never look very good IMO.
One way is hot water and floor cleaner with mop (looks cloudy and streaky) and another, we were given expensive hardwood spray cleaner - spray and wipe with microfibre flat mop. This makes the floor look nice for 5 seconds, then it just looks grimy again.
I am looking at a steam mop as out entire house is wooden floors and the bathroom is tiles. It says that you have to be careful with the wood - does anyone know why?
I currently do boiling water and meths and it looks good
I use hot water and apple cider vinegar then (when I can be bothered) run over it with a microfibre cloth soaked in linseed oil. Ours aren't sanded or sealed though so never look great lol so annoying...
I got one of those steam mops and its brilliant on our lino floors. Dunno about wooden. Maybe its be cautious with wooden if you leave it in one place for a while the steam could eventually lift any varnish.
I just use straight water on a microfibre cloth mop thing I got. I think they look fine - not streaky etc. I'm sure I read somewhere that a bit of white vinegar in the water works quite well too.
