Topic: What grates you.. Posted: 03 April 2009 at 2:56pm |
about your children? And what ways do you deal with it or keep sane?
For me: DS1 is extreamly shy, has antiexty issues & fears galore lol oh & the whining argh
DS2 it has to be his agressiveness & the dangermouse type situations he gets into
To keep sane I try to get out of the house everyday & do something with my boys, in a social setting or something simillar, although that is when their disruptive behaviours' peak I find it helps me to have someone to talk to anyway

My lovely DS who is turning 5 is a real push over and just wants to please my friends kids all the time and is always thinking of them and wanting to save treats for them etc.
Its a great trait to have, but i would rather he do that to me.........nah just kidding, i would rather he do it to someone that shows appreciation to him and not expect it like everyone should bow down and do anything to please .............i worry that he will do sooooo much to please them and they will in turn just expect it to happen. or treat him like dirt.........we are always telling him that he doesnt always need to save his lollies for them etc...........I just can see what will happen in his future he will have NO back bone and get walked all over by little hussys!
I want to protect my boy but at the same time i want him to be able to protect himself from being TOO nice

Miss 13yrs.. All her huffing and puffying whenever I ask her to do something....I try to ignore it but it grates me hard.
Miss 8yrs... Copying her big sister's attitude but instead of the huffing and puffing its the stomping of her feet, and rolling her eyes...Grrrrr
Master 2.... His anger, He constantly says noooooooooo and gets wild when he doesnt get his own way and throws anything and everything near him.
Otherwise we are one big happy family lmao

Spencer is having another squealing phase, I try ignoring it but sometimes get annoyed and tell him to stop it which I think just makes him do it more

Lol Kels I'm so glad I'm not the only one whos kid throws things arrrgh Jake is generally great but y'need to be pretty upbeat with him. If we use a negative (mad, impatient, upset, etc) voice with him to get him to do something he immediately throws whatever it is hes holding or the nearest thing he can grab then starts crying he's so sensitive to negative energy/vibes which I think dates back to when we lived with his bio dad and what he heard when I was pregnant with him. So frustrating though!!

Rico teases/annoys Gia
Gia screaming at Rico when he's teasing/annoying her, she's soo loud!
Chickielou - your boy sounds like such a sweetheart!! But I totally agree with you, that you don't want him to become a pushover, and that people will take his generosity for granted.

The constant talking....Argh he talks for the sake of it. i f he does not have anything to say he will go "muuuum.....um....um....um" untill he finds something and with him talking and Soph exercising her lungs while I am trying to have a conversation with DH just does my head in. Oh and the butting in whill I am talking with someone. Each time he does it i stop him and remind him to wait until I have finished but i still have to say it every time....I think it is his way of ensuring I pay attention to him LOL. Sometimes it is just for him to tell me he loves me...Awwww how sweet but could you just wait!!!!

The pair of them WHINGE and it drives me crackers!
J whines and whinges and cry babies, so I find I have to "baby" him alot more to jolly him out of it.
C winds, stirs and itrritates everyone, in particular J, which sets off the above mentioned behavior, so I feel like I am always on top of her.
I find the walk away and shut myself off for 5 mins thing helps me not to lose my cool, as does stickers for beign good and trying to paise good behaviour and ignore as much as poss the bad and annoying.... HArd thoi as the whinging and whining makes me want to drink....
Oh, and N? Self centred, lazy, smart ass, the list goes on. Be ware the teenager...

Caden screams the house down when he doesnt get his own way, or if we take something off him, like the remote, he will pack a major tanty and the screaming hurts our ears!
He also does this sometimes at nappy time, he hates having his nappy changed and I HATE changing his nappy cos its such a battle
Other than that, I love him to bits lol

Gosh I absolutely love and adore my children and I feel guilty even thinking about this but OMG it really annoys me that Dom doesn't listen or reply to me when I speak to him. I know he has heard me he just has selective hearing. With Issy its the reflux, it just breaks my heart that she is often hurting and then sometimes its just down right hard because she should be sleeping or Dom needs my attention badly and I can't do anything because I have to hold her upright.
I feel mean
