SVT- cardiac problems

Jeepers, you poor thing, sounds like a freaky experience! I don't have any advice or knowledge of what you're going through but just wanted to say, sounds like your wee bubba is a strong one and best of luck to you if you do need an induction.

kiwisj - Babe...thanks for your words...........actually its funny cause i decided to lean over coffee table to makke breathing easier (nurse for a mum helps) and my boy did the same over otherside.....as i was taking deep breaths to try and slow things down my boy did it to and blew into my face.........and thinking about that made me smile through it all dispite all the pain...........before i left i told him mummy is going to hospital and to be good for poppa...today i said next time mummy goes to hospital it will be for a new bubba he wimpered when i said hospital thinking that both my bubbas are meant for something cause Ty went through hell and back with me anyway enough rambling

Oh hun! That sounds so scary! Glad bubs is doing OK, but take care of yourself and hopefully with monitoring etc they can manage it. And ouch about the pubic bone - you're not having a good time of it! Glad Ty's been making you smile though - kids are great for therapy I reckon.

Yeah I remember reading your birth story I was gonna ask bout VB too coz it sounds like it could be difficult with the split pubic bone! I really hope that this one goes better for you despite the obvious complications.

Hi Hayley, didn't know what you were talking about at first but glad I kept reading.

Yep I've had that...bloody scary!

1st episode was when i was playing hockey around the age of 13 or 14, was put down to exertion while playing.

2nd episode freaked me out, I was about 19? I was half way up the side of Mount Tongariro just above the hut by the springs, so those that don't know...above where it steams!! All I did was turn from looking at the scenery, & whammo all of a sudden my heart was beating the area of my neck down to the bottom of my ribs & out to the side of my body. My Dad was ahead a good 15m & I couldn't yell at him. I remember thinking I have to get to him, so I forced myself to walk & at this point I think that Dad realised something was wrong so he stopped & we sat down & he tried to feel my pulse with my wrist LOL I said just put your hand on my chest. Lucky it stopped.

ETA: there was no cell coverage up there, we were both vodaphone & we could see a cell tower on the next mountain over but no way of connecting, I think Dad would have got me airlifted off LOL but we had to walk back down! I think both companies cover up there now but I'll always go out with one of each.

I went to the Dr when I got back & he did said that basically cause I survived that I had a good heart ( or was told that not to freak me out!) but it was SVT & that I was to avoid stress.

The above came about as I'd just had my exams at uni the day before, had been feed up on coffee all week which I never normally had so basically set myself up for an episode.

I now drink coffee & try not to stress.

Also if it happens you press behind your windpipe or on your eyeballs to "reset" the nerves? Apparently your head thinks your heart has missed a beat & trys to catch up so you need to reset it??

I've had a few mini episodes since but nothing as severe. I always end up with a sore throat as the main atery bruises your throat.

Is your blood pressure normally very good?

yip wouldnt be so much if i wasnt preg just got back from MW and she informed me that they where gonna induce me then and there and then my heart came down......its like a scary movie hahaha next stop specialist.....cross fingers

just to update....specialist put me on tabs to slow heart rate down...but.................. she said that if i start passing out then i have to spend the rest of the time in hospital.............next week i have to see cardioligist and authitest (man i cant spell) and antenatal again as they still dont know if i can go for natural birth now...ok so leaving it late arnt we..............and to top it offf the register that i saw looked and acted exactly like that new doc on shortland st.....crack up.........she did a scan and she said 'it looks like you are having a same size baby as last" told her that i didnt want a 9pounda so naturally i told her to stop making my day worse and then she kept calling it a boy..........slip of tongue? did she see bits? or did she just say it cause she didnt want to use "it"? i want a girl dammit
