You can call the provider to get them blocked or whatever. I think there is soething funny about prepaid phones. And they need to be texting you so many times a day for a certain amount of time. A friend of mine had a problem a few years ago, but they couldn't do anything as she wasn't being texted enough.
Then again, rules often change, and you may find it different with each networks.
This person sounds weird!

are you actually sure that she is a mother or even a woman for that matter? I would definetly ring Vodafone if I were you... It wouldn't surprise me if shes some weirdo who is looking for something completely different to what you would think IYKWIM
Anyway, hope it is sorted for you

Vodafone can only do anything if the texts you are receiving are abusive/threatening, and you need to keep several examples on your phone to forward to them.
What kind of phone do you have?
Most new Nokias have a function that allows you to trash texts from certain numbers - so you won't see them come in, they'll sit in a seperate folder in your phone (called "Screened Messages")
It's worth a call to Vodafone to see what they can do, but if the texts aren't malicious then there's not really much that can be done.
But if that number has been reported for the same kind of thing by several people, then there's cause for action.
Sounds really frustrating, good luck!!

OMGosh that sounds scary and weird all right. I would report to vodafone anyway so if it continues or gets worse there is a record of a complaint made about the number. She/he/it sounds like a nutter.

Just ignore the texts and don't reply. Sounds like a total nut job to me.

sounds very weird.
If it were me I'd just ignore the txts. she'll get tired of it eventually. Yes I imagine she's very lonely and, through chatting on the net, probably considers you a 'friend'. Not that there's anything wrong with having net friends or anything *waves to the girls in due sep 08 group* but if you are that girls only 'friend' then that could be why she's becoming obsessed. Do you still chat in that mums group?

If it were me I'd change my number and that be that, she hasn't got your full/last name, address or any other details apart from your mobile phone eh?
Doesn't sound like normal behaviour to me, especially not that of a mother run off her feet with kids. The texts sound invasive. I'd be worried too.
I think we can all definitely take it as a lesson not to put our mobile #'s on a public forum, espesh one you aren't very familiar with and that can be viewed by non-members (guessing thats the case here ...)
Hopefully she get the idea quick smart if you keep ignoring.
I don't personally use my mobile ph. anymore as I hate them, but when i did I could block texts and calls from certain numbers (which came in bloody handy when you have a spat with someone ) ...The phone i have is a samsung and its the green slide one, not sure if this is a feature on all samsungs but worth a check- you'd think that if one brand has that capability most others would follow suit.

Do you know if she is texting the other lady's as well? I would say she is really bored and lonely.
Maybe you could tell her you are changing your number as you are switching to telecom and for her not to text as you won't get them, and will get back to her once you have another number... (just to be polite)

Ring vodafone and get it blocked and have three examples on your phone. pretty sure its not just for malicious calls as a girl at work kept getting weird texts afrom people she didn';t know even after sending an initial text to say that you got wrong number.
