I have been using bum genius pockets (V3) overnight for the last 3 1/2 months with no problems. In the last week or so Ava has been soaking through them every night. I thought they might have detergent build up so I washed them and rinsed twice in the washing machine but they still appear to be leaking. Should I add another insert layer or get some longies? I don't want to use sposies overnight and like the bum genuis fit.

You could try stripping them by washing with 1/2 cup baking soda and 1/2 cup white vinegar, then doing an extra rinse. (don't add detergent, just use the baking soda and vinegar).
Scrubbing the fleece with dish washing liquid and then washing them is the other way of stripping them.

That sounds like a good idea. Do I add the baking soda and vinegar to a full wash? I just checked, we have cider, wine or malt vinegar- can I sub with one of these to save a trip to the supermarket?

I've used malt before. Yep just add it to the full wash.

What are you using to stuff your nappy overnight? If it's only microfibre then try adding some hemp or bamboo behind the microfibre. They'll hold more liquid

I wouldn't wash Bum Genius nappies with baking soda and vinegar. If anything goes wrong with the elastic they will not be covered under warranty. Prolonged use of these products suggests that it can damage elastic after time.
