Indestructable dog toys, help!

I have a lab and a cocker spaniel and the only thing that has lasted has been a kong. I have spent hundreds of dollars on toys!!

The only other things I will buy are stuffed toys for dogs. This is because when they chew holes in them I can sew them back up again which means they last longer than rubber/plastic toys. I have some waiting on top of the fridge for me to sew up at the moment!

I always give them used toilet rolls and glad wrap/wrapping paper rolls because they LOVE them, they are free and I just pick up all of the pieces once they have shredded them.

I really think it depends on the strength of the dog as well because I have friends with smaller dogs who give them icecream containers, plastic bottles and things like that and they last, but they never would with my two!

We had the same problem, although ours are a bit bigger than your poodle. The only thing we have had sucsess with, (staying together and the dogs like) is the Holee Rollers. It lasted about 6mths with 2 bullys tugging at it, which was a record for a dog toy. Have now got a Holee Molee Extreme

Which is awesome, no bits breaking and they throw it round and go crazy.

Kongs always a good bet, i just found ours liked balls better.

Yup theres different sizes etc. Just dont go for the cheapo branded toys i think its masterpet do copies of them and kongs but they dont last.

Rope lasted a few months, and it's only gone because it's lost not destroyed, so it may well worth be replacing that one :) A cricket ball is a brilliant option, and I love the idea of freezing meat too, thank you :)

I agree with Huntd, those Hollee Rollers are the only thing that our Staffy has not destroyed. We brought ours over a year ago and it is still going strong and Jet absolutely loves it to bits. We reckon he loves it so much cos he hasn't manged to destroy it yet.
Any other toy just gets annihilated (sp?) in a matter of minutes.

We have a Staffie who is soooo good he doesn't chew anything except his toys, but geez he gives them a hammering. We always joke we should offer him out as a tester for "extreme" toys. We've spent a LOT of money working out the toys that last for longer than 10 minutes.
Kong's are great, but get the right colour to match chewing ability. Black all the way for our Staffie. The red varieties only last a month for us (but might be good for a poodle). And that Holey Molee extreme (above) is great. He gets through them but it takes about 6 months and even when they're starting to come apart he loves them and you can put treats in to keep them busy as well.
What else; good quality tennis balls (from a sports store - NOT a pet shop). They eventually get shredded but last several weeks and he loves them. We do buy ropes because he likes chewing through them and it cleans his teeth but we only get one every couple of months. We keep the knots to give him again later 'cause he enjoys chewing them as well. Some of the heavier duty fake tyres are also good. Again our boy can get through them eventually but they last for a while.
There are others but those are his favorites.
We just make sure we rotate the toys so he doesn't get bored of any one of them.

The only 2 things that survived our lab was the cheaper version of a Kong (its a red ball about the size of a grapefruit) and rubber bone from countdown.

We have a really cheap version of the kong. They were about $5 from countdown.

We have a Staffy x who shreds stuff very well. He's got a lot calmer and shreds less since we got our kitten. They play together for ages.
