fireworks

DP spent at least $400 on fireworks last year which we are still chewing our way through

Oh it is ridiclous but he loves them. Though he is the reason that they will inevitably be banned.

Last year he didn't secure one properly and it narrowly missed me before hitting the clothes line where it burned a hole in our 300 count sheets.

i agree they are dangerous in the wrong hands but when handled properly they are alright.

one year when i was younger, probably about 10 years ago we had fireworks at my brothers house and one of them hadn't been put into the ground properly, it was a roman candle, it ended up falling over and shooting in all directions including into the house through an open window.

luckily nothing was damaged but i have sure learnt to make sure they are safe before lighting them. and make sure i stay well away.

Although they are a bit of fun I personally think that the sale should be banned and that there be public displays only.

Nah we wont buy any or go to a display because we live up on a hill out in the country and just across the water at a park they always do a huge fire works display so we just sit on our front lawn and watch it, and plus we have a view of Aucklnd city and the sky tower from where we live(we are in Auckland-Waiuku) and we can see all of the displays from there, its soo awesome, we get all these displays for free from home hehe
So we will take caden outside to see some, he was too little last year.

ETA-I think they should be banned aswell, they are so frikkin dangerous, I nearly got hit by a roman candle thingy cos my stupid friend thought it would be cool to wave the thing around!

We won't be buying any or going to a display. When we were at Primary School there used to be a big night down at the school but since then Mum and Dad started buying less and less. Now we don't do anything, half the time the ones you buy are fizzers anyway and you may as well just burn a $20 note

Haha Lemongirl our partners would get on great. We still have a $200 box from last year and there is occasionally one that falls over but its always one of the weak ones that doesnt do a heck of a lot.

Schools burning down happens when parents allow kids to play with or be able to get a hold of fireworks they have an age limit for a reason just like alcohol cigarette spray paint and guns
