I have had enough, Trish! Nope, no signs of Xavier arriving soon... and one of my midwives thinks I'll go at least a couple of days over.
I'm still having lots of useless contractions, just like I did with Josiah... except I only had 3 weeks of them with him and this time they started at 30 weeks.
Just as long as our baby boy doesn't decide to arrive next weekend, everything will be fine! Today looks like a good day to me (mind you, so did every day last week! )

I'm not going anywhere next weekend... being due the following Wednesday made it seem not such a good idea... but Nathaniel has a job interview in Whangarei on Saturday, so he'll be gone Friday lunchtime until Sunday sometime! I really would rather he was there when our son is born! My family is coming down to visit, so there will be someone here with me... and Mum delivered Kiya (at the hospital) so I'm sure she'd jump at the chance to support me again.
Nat is catching the train up to Auckland on Friday and staying the night with his best friend Henoch, who is going to drive the pair of them up to Whangarei on Saturday. Nat will stay Saturday night with Henoch again, then catch the train back on Sunday.

Looks like it worked, Trish!
Strong contractions started 12noon yesterday... they got painful at 11pm and kept waking me up through the night... painful contractions 40 minutes apart from 5:15am until 8:30am when they became 30 minutes apart - and have been since! They are lasting about 30 seconds.
I saw my midwife today, and she said he'll be born probably tonight or tomorrow. Bags are packed, carseat is ready, childcare is organised (just need to call the people and put it in place)... bring it on!
When the contractions are lasting for 45 seconds then it'll be time to call the midwife who will decide if Nat and I should jump in the car and drive ourselves or if we need to call the ambulance.

Thanks ladies!
Contractions are now 20 minutes apart, and lasting 30 seconds. A friend of ours is on his way here now from Wanganui to look after the kids. Nat and I decided it was easier to just ask Chris to come today rather than keep our 3-phase plan in place (someone during the night, someone else in the morning, Chris the rest of the time).
Nat and I can't decide if we should wait as long as we were told, or if we should head to Wanganui ourselves once its after 5pm (and my midwife goes off duty). Chris should be here by then.

go when you feel you need to - remember you do have a drive so alcoate time for that too - you don't wanna end up having bubs in the car and if too soon you can always go window shopping or something to hurry up labour.
Oh how exciting ....

if you would feel better about it then you should head in I reckon. Once the kids are sorted get in there and get settled and then you can ummm 'relax' (yeah right) but you know what i mean.
good luck again
