Mmmm yes... another man... geez I'm terrible.
I gave up on the other one... and had given up on men altogether actually - until last weekend
I went out for a friend's birthday and had one glass of wine too many... which led to me flirting furiously with her partner's friend Andy.
I later found out that her partner had set the whole thing up. Truly embarrassed! Except that he sent me a text message today and asked me out for a drink! How cute! A date!
So yeah, he's a bit older... QUITE a bit older... which I am struggling to come to terms with. But then I think that was one of the problems I had with my last boyfriend, he was forever competing with Hannah for attention and was never going to win. We'll see how it goes with Andy, but he has a niece a couple of months older than Hannah who he ADORES and babysits all the time... so hopefully he'll understand that he's second best
Not sure what to do about the Hannah thing. Taking baby steps. I think I'm going to hold off on him meeting her and see if things go ok with just us first.
Will provide an update after this weekend

Ooohhh yay for you Nikki. Looking forward to hearing how it all works out.
I think when you are a young single mum, you kind of have to date older guys cos the ones that are your own age are waaaaaayyyyyyy to "young" to be in a relationship with someone who is always going to have a higher priority. Hope you manage to get your head around it though and good luck
Have fun!!

He may be *cou11yearsoldergh* than me... we decided my emotional maturity must have some how been brought up by having a child... and knowing males... they are kids on the inside... so maybe we are even? (P.S. Not too sure about my increased emotional maturity - especially my track record with men. Ah well... I'll run with it anyway )

I wouldnt worry about the age thing. Once you get to a certain age 11 years isnt so important. Now if you were 16 and he was 27, thats a different story!

I agree, when your around this sort of age 11 years isnt a big deal, hopefully it means he will have his sh*t sorted out and not be some little boy wanting to party with his mates all the time.
How excited, my love life is old and married, its fun to hear about someone dating and going through the whole first time events again. Good luck for the weekend, cant wait to hear all the juicy details (though hopefully they wont be tooo juicy young Nikki! you know the old saying about buying the cow and milk thing hehe, Ive always wanted to say that to someone)

when I met my hubby my kids were my world, as in previous relationship alot of the time I put ex needs before them - i feel guilty about this everyday but it was an abusive relationship which I tried to make work but thats a whole new story - anyway they were just turned 3 and almost 8, I decided I play it by ear when to introduce to new BF, it as 8 weeks after I met him that I told kids and introduced not long after wards although still careful not to show too much effection and acted like he was a friend rather than Bf, nicki you seem like you know what you doing and so i am sure ypu will know when the time is right for both of you.
and normally when you not looking for a relationship thats when you find .... right enough of my advise/insight

*scratches head and tries to remember how old nikki is in the first place*
There is a gap of about seven and a bit years between Rollie and me, and I have gone out with guys older still - I think at one stage in my "dating days" I even made it a rule that I wouldn't go out with anyone under 25

There is about 8 years between me and Daniel. I am just about to turn 21 and he is 28. I had a 7 year gap relationship when I was 16 and needless to say it didn't work. When you are older age doesn't matter (within reason).
I say GO FOR IT. Good luck for this weekend. Hope you have lots of fun

hehehe .. you're allowed to be excited about your birthday!
I'm like Robyn etc ... old and married, so was quite excited to read your post (god, how sad am I?). Anyway, have lots of fun and don't worry about the age thing at all - it's just a number (and I had a boyfried 12 years older than me - age wasn't what broke us up).

Ohhhhhh :-) how exciting!
Right now I'm wishing Adam was a bit older and more mature, he's 24 and has the mind of a 14 year old at times, so another 11 years would do that mind of his some good!

I feel like Robyn and co.....been with Atish for 10 years married for nearly 5 ....
Atish is 1.5 years older than me and some times acts like he is 21 and then at times he acts like he is 75...I cant keep track.

You go girlfriend!! Now, I am a long time lover of the "silver fox" variety of men. I don't think I have EVER "dated" anyone close to my own age. There is 12 years between Rod and I (sometimes feels like he is 17 sometimes he is 70, like Atish!)
what Rocks about men over 30 is that they are usually secure in themselves, have some sort of "plan" about liffe, and are actually DOING it (that dosen't include drinking 2 24 packs of beer and scoring a 16 year old)and the world *usually* dosen't revolve around them. Oh, yeah, like I even need to point this out *ahem* experience counts!
Keep us updated!!
