Hi Girls

Our little boy is normally quite active during the day, but not today at all, i have only felt his feet in my ribs once and not really moving but enough for me to know they are there, he hasnt kicked or pushed his wee hands out at all that i can think of, do you think i should let midwife know now or wait untill later on ? I have an appointment with here tomorrow at 5.30pm

Try drinking a glas of cold water, lying down really still and then pushing him around, that usually works for me.
Definately ring your MW if you're worried, thats what they are there for

Sit down and have a very cold drink of water. If that doesn't get your wee boy wriggling a bit then give the midwife a call. Don't worry too much though, sometimes they like to have lazy days, just like us grown ups

I would try a few things to try get him moving, like drinking a big glass of something cold, coughing a few times... If you haven't already.

But I would also let the mw know, sometimes they have 'quiet' days, but better to be safe than sorry, my mw always tells me to let her know if I haven't had 10 movements by 4pm each day.

ive heard lots of people say about the cold water.... but i drink all my drinks with ice and straight out of the fridge and it does nothing for him lol. so dont be too worried if that doesnt work (although it does for about 95% of people)

if i want bubs to move i actually lie on my back..... he really doesnt like that and it always makes him go a littls nuts to get me standing or on my side.... maybe he thinks my spine is uncomfortable lol. just make sure that if you start to get dizzy or loose feeling in your legs to lie on your side for a few mins before standing up or anything coz lying on your back can result in bubs cutting off some blood flow or something.

also putting something on your tummy? if i rest my computer on my tummy while im typing (laptop) he kicks that too.......... so hope one of the ideas in this thread helps!

Sometimes my baby is really active, like non stop, one day and then really quiet and non active the next, then gets back to a normal routine the day after that!

One thing you could try is a glass of fizzy, that usually works, or sometimes I put some music on and put headphones to my belly.

And also putting something on your tummy one works for me too, even if it's just a heavy book I'm too lazy to hold

Lets us know when he starts moving again !

Iced water always works a treat for me. My bubba has been quite lazy lately but it scares me when she doesn't wriggle for a few hours but as soon as I gulp down a big glass of water she starts dancing away in there. My MW also suggested eating a big bowl of Ice Cream I thought that was a great suggestion! At least I can use that as my excuse for eating so much of it lately....... lol
