Topic: Kicks! Posted: 06 January 2007 at 10:54am |
Had my first HUGE kick last night.
I was touching my stomach and I could feel this lumpy bit. I think it might have been a head. Then it moved away and kicked me! HARD!
It was rather funny. I tried to explain what it felt like to DP, but I couldn't really find the right words.
I guess it's just something only pregnant women can understand.

Hehe kicks are so fun! He'll be able to feel them too shortly with good timing (that's the hard part...).
One of the things I've been having over the last month is Baby moving her hand up (down) to her mouth and back again. So this little mitten runs from my pelvis all up to my "waist" and back again. Almost tickles!

I've been getting the hands on the head trick. That really hurts.

I think it kind of feels like when you are fishing and a fish bites lol. Ew at the end I remember a foot would poke right out and I'd grab it and it would go back in it was kinda gross I'd make other people touch it and they didn't like it.

yeah i get the ripples but very rarely do i get KICKS....mine is facing wrong way and kicking the placenta apparently (or she is foot long breech and kicking away in my pelvis area). Even at last weeks ultrasound when she was highfiving and kicking away on screen i just wasnt feeling it....THAT freaks me out...not feeling her!!!
And def havent had anything that would move a remote off my tummy...i kinda wish i did though...would be much more reassuring!
DH gets upset that he doesnt feel her too often...he doesnt seem to get that im not getting hard enough kicked let alone for him to feel her....

Gosh when I was pg with Alize he always felt like he was on a treadmill. The kicks also starting getting pretty sore.

That fishing rod analogy is brilliant!!! I spent all of my last pregnancy trying to explain to DH what it felt like and that is just perfect I just said it to him and he was like "ahhhh oh ok"- I think he finally got it!
The foot in the ribs is killer- Charlotte only did that once thankfully but god it hurt! This one is still mostly just kicking around the bottom half of my belly but they sure get some whoppers in!

Andrew was a foot in the ribs boy and I hated it. This one has his feet curled up so I get to feel is butt and back pushing against my tummy and that can hurt.

Bombshell, it's so reassuring to hear that you don't feel all the kicks either.
Sometimes if bubs moves to a different position, I can feel more, and then it'll move back again and it's back to the bubbly/fluttery sensations.
At my last appt with the MW she was listening to the heartbeat & bubs kept moving away, and she was saying what an active little thing it was, but I couldn't feel anything!
I guess I should just be grateful it's not sore. And early days yet - bubs might find a new favourite position later and really go for it.

how exciting Renee.
Nathan didnt get to feel any kicks until 3 days before HAleigh was born, she used to settle when he touched my bump.
The kicks get stronger and stronger, I cant wait to get the kicking this time round

I'm getting it heaps now!
I can feel a big lump sitting right up near the surface. I poke it a little bit and I think the baby gets annoyed and pokes and kicks me back.
It's just not quite strong enough for DP to feel it with his hand yet. Soon though I think. It's getting stronger every day.
