My big baby has been kidnapped! My parents took her up north this morning to my grandparents place in Whangarei. OK so it's only one night, and it isn't the first time she's been away from home for the night, but it is the first time she's been more than a few minutes away and I am struggling with it!
Am hoping it's not the start of a slippery slope, they've been bugging me for ages to let her go to Sydney for the school holidays and I have always said NO WAY! But she is starting to get old enough to make up her own mind and they will bribe her... 
I wish they'd taken the gremlins as well tho!

This probably isn't going to help, but my niece was on a plane between NZ and Oz when she was 4 she loved it, and the cabin crew on the airlines are awesome.

Aww Emma! I can imagine how you feel! I would be the same. And yeah, it would've been nice for them to have given you a complete break and taken the gremlins as well! But then, well, could you have really handled being away from them all night?
Arrrh, just think of the peace! It'll go quickly, you'll be surprised  .

Noel and I have booked both nanas for a weekend in June so that we can go away for 2 days all by ourselves I can't wait!

hey emma i hope your enjoying your night without your big girl, Cailtyn's been going to Oz since she was 4, but always with me or her nana (her dad's mum) -im not ready to have my baby go on a plane by herself...tho my cousin went to england by herself at 7, which isn't that much older ....

That sounds quite nice - but I know what you mean about the distance. She'll be back soon and you'll be wondering when the next break will come!
I'm looking forward to the 'break' in hospital with the new baby too - and I only have one at home. Mostly I'm looking forward to meals magically arriving regularly without having to lift a finger!

Awww, its so weird without them there huh?
I felt absolutely the same when my parents drove off to their place up north with Ella for the weekend.
I'm totally fine with them having her here in the city but her being out of town turned me into a big sooky-la all over again!
