Topic: Men and Diva cups!!! Posted: 29 April 2008 at 10:03am |
We had a conversation this morning that went some thing like this.
Neil: Fay was playing in your bag this morning, what's that funnel thing
Me: You might not like the answer I give you
Neil: No tell me
Me: It's my menstrual cup
Neil: Oh what do you pour in it?
Me: No I pour things out of it
Neil: Oh......No I still don't get it
Me: I use it for my period
Neil: Huh
Neil: Does it go in your bits?
Me: Yep
Neil: Ahhhh ***puts finger in his ears and starts singing lalalalala
Neil: Fay was playing with it...is it OK?
Me: Yes I washed it
Neil Don't you throw it away each time
Me: No thats why its reusable
Neil Lalalala ***fingers in ears again****
Bless him, I think I have blown his world apart, don't know what he was more disgusted with, the diva cup or the idea that Fay played with it and he touched it

LMAO That's totally what my DH does any time I mention getting one.
It reminds me of that stupid Libra ad where the guy is asking what the pad is for and when she starts to tell him he hides in the bathroom saying "call me when you've stopped talking about that"

Poor Tobin - if he acts in the least bit horrified then I'd throw a major tanty. I'm all about people accepting natural body processed. hehe
My dad was funny though:
My text to him: "Dad, I may have left my mooncup at your house. It is in a little cream cotton bag with 'mooncup' written on it. What ever you do - DON'T OPEN IT!"
I called him a while later and asked if he'd found it, again worrying that he'd opened it. Luckily he hadn't found it but...
Dad: "We'd better make sure you get it back straight away!"
Me: "Ermmm yes, I know, that's why I called. A couple of days ago would have been better but whatever"
Dad: "Well we don't want any more little Hannah's running around"
Me: "What?... what do you think it is Dad?"
Dad: "Isn't it one of those contraceptive thingies?"
Me: "Ummmm no. Definitely not."
hahahahaha Poor man. Thought he was looking around his house for me diaphragm. (Mind you, I'm not sure which is worse!)

My hubby is the same! He loves we don't have to buy any of the disposable products! Luckily he's also unfazed by "womenly processes", he'll even happily hang out my mama pads when they go through with the nappies. Bless him!

Nah, neil would freak if he thought I put my cloth pads in the normal wash, like I do a separate wash just for half a dozen or so pads. Oh well what he doesn't know won't hurt him

Haha!!!! I only have one and can hide that away in the 'normal' wash. Don't even think he'd take it out of the bag if he hung the washing up

I thought the Diva was a reference to Maria Carey cups.

i felt funnier the other day when my SIL came over and the washing was on the couch and one of my post partum pads was on the arm of the couch and she sat next to it...i know she didnt know what it was cause she would have freaked had she known!!!
