    Posted: 12 May 2009 at 1:01pm

I'm looking for the best chocolate chippie biscuit receipe.
My mums receipe.

125 grams butter, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup chocolate chips
3 tablespoons condensed milk

Preheat oven to 180c.
Cream butter, sugar and condensed milk.
Add flour, baking powder and choc chips and mix altogether.
Roll into teaspoon size balls, and place on a lined tray then flatten with a fork.

Bake for 10 - 15 minutes.

There's nothing really wrong with this receipe, I'm just looking for something better.

My Mums is similar to yours :) It is by far the best Choccy chippy recipe I have come across so far, and I always get positive feedback when I make them.

225g Butter
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
1/4 Cup Condensed Milk
2 Cups Plain Flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 Cup Chocolate Drops

Preheat Oven to 190c.
Cream butter & sugar, add condensed milk and beat until light & fluffy.
Sift in flour & BP and then add Choc Chops.
Roll tablespoons onto a greased tray and flatten with a fork.
Bake in preheated oven for 10-15 minutes until golden.
Makes 30 ish.

Sarah, yours looks like the Edmonds one which is my fave. You can substitute honey for s.c.milk though.

I used to make those ones but got sick of needing part of a can of condensed milk so now I make these ones, they are really yummy and come out with the same cracked sort of effect on top like bought ones:

75g butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/4 cup flour

Heat oven to 180C
Melt the butter, add brown and white sugar and the egg and beat with a fork until thoroughly mixed.
Add chocolate chips, then sift in flour and baking soda. Mix well.
Place walnut sized balls onto a greased tray leaving room for spreading and gently flatten to about 1cm thick. (The mixture firms up on standing - if it is too soft to form into balls initially you can just spoon it out onto the tray.)
Bake 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.

I have half a tin of condensed milk left over from making Russian Fudge. So it needs using. Our reciepe has got more in it mumtosam.

But I like the look of yours Genie. I'll try it next time.

Busymum, Yeah I think thats where it's from, but it has a different name. My mum makes them every week to keep the pile high. She knows it off by heart.

Glad you liked them SarahBoBera, definitely a favourite in our house.
Huntd, these are more crunchy but they kinda soften and go chewier after a couple of days. Or maybe thats my kids not putting the lid on properly lol. Maybe cooking for a wee bit less time would help?

Made them again tonight (in two batches!) and they're kinda chewy when they're hot but I suppose most cookies are. I reckon if you cooked em for a wee bit less you might get some chewy goodness... will have to try that next time

I've tried Genie's recpie too. I add a teaspoon of peppermint essence for a choco-mint explosion.

Here's my inclusion, tastes a lot like the griffins choc chippie:

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
2 1/2 cups blended rolled oats (blend in a blender to a fine powder)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
340g chocolate chips
110g grated chocolate

Preheat oven to 190 degrees. Cream the butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Add chocolate chips and grated chocolate.. Roll into balls, and place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 or 11 minutes.
