Topic: Lurkers Posted: 16 July 2006 at 10:17am |
Remember a few months ago when someone (sorry I cant remember who now) told us she was preggy and a lurker told her family?
Well, now I've got one! As some of you may know, we lent friends a lot (well it was to us anyway) of money and they still us us over a grand nine months later... I have vented my frustration and asked for advice on this several times, and have done this here rather than talking to my real life friends, as I didn't want everyone in town knowing that these people were in serious financial strife. And some of you may also know that the wife of our friend is the sister of another Oh Baby member. The member had asked her sister to help her put photos and a ticker on here, but then went home and used her login and password to look up stuff that I have written. She has printed out messages that I have posted regarding this situation, things I have said about my in-laws and times when I have moaned about Daniel. Apparently, once they have paid us the money back she is going to show it all to Daniel! I just have to mention that I am not in the least bit worried as Daniel knows that I moan about him not doing stuff and who doesnt also complain about their IL's. Our marriage is much more stable than that.
I am so incredibly pi$$ed off about this invasion of my privacy in the one place where I get the most support as a mum, and a place where I consider you all to be my friends. I am on this site several times a day and it has kind of become a part of my life that I miss when I dont come on here. But, this is not going to stop me from posting about stuff like that.
So if you are reading this, my stalker/lurker, then you are not going to ruin this for me. And I cannot believe you have resorted to such pathetic attempts to hurt me when I have never done anything wrong. I also cannot believe you have used your sister like that - she was so worried that I was going to hate her for this, but our friendship is much stronger than that.

Good for you Aimee! I've been stabbed in the back way too many times by "friends" that I have tried to help. Don't let this person get you down or stop you from wanting to help others (even when some people think you have "mug" written on your face!!!)
Keep on smiling hun

I was going to say the same James, that is so Form 4 high school behaviour. Good on you for saying something. You should be able to say things here and know that other people aren't going to runa dn tell your whole town about your business.

I think I'm not as free with things I want to say/ask because of the potential lurkers around. I guess it would be alright if I changed my name and also the kids name when I talk about them but figured I just have to get over it and message when I need to. Damned if you do and damned if you don't

One forum I belong has a policy for lurkers....members need to reach a certian number of posts otherwise they will be deleted...I'm almost wondering if it is worth considering something like this? It seems horrible but if this is the second incidence of this sort of thing happening.....

Aimee, that really sux for you, and good on you for not being intimidated by it all either - you go, girl!
And to little miss 'I'll print off what Aimee said and show everyone'... come on now, think about it - a healthy marriage includes each partner getting the chance to talk to others about their frustrations every now and then, that's why women need their girlfriends and men need their mates so much... it's perfectly healthy! And since when did butting into someone elses marriage that didn't even need "help" ever do anything but make the person butting in look like a total busybody? And another thing - I once owed money to my mum, and took way too long to pay her back. She had every right to feel frustrated and maybe even taken advantage of, and if she vented to her friends about it, then good on her! Our relationship would have been injured if she'd done all her venting to me, she just said to me what she wanted to save for me, which was enough.

oh that is sooo rude. Good on you Amiee for not giving up on us just because of someone who seems a bit imature. To me oh baby is almost like a diary that talks back and I would be lost if I couldnt vent, share and ask advice on here about things not just baby related. This person should respect your privacy and realise we are here for support not as a tool to be used against each other as by printing off things about you it could also effect others who have been involved in the posts!

and also, wasn't it done through another legitimate members account? Also Aimee - good for you for not letting it ruin your friendship. I know your friend must feel really bad and be really relieved that you are mature enough to not blame her.

You've definitly been the adult in this situation, Aimee! You were discrete about coming here to vent but not naming names, so that you weren't gossipping around town... and you've been very gracious with your friend by not holding the actions of a silly little girl against her.
Good on you!
