Topic: Back in the day Posted: 10 April 2007 at 2:40pm |
Emeldee's post about Fraggle Rock reminded me of all the things we loved about the 80s and 90s.. and probably the 70s for some of you.
So instead of highjacking that post I thought I'd start a new one - what's your fave things, tv programmes, movies from back in the day?
Here's a few of mine:
Danger Mouse
Saved by the Bell
Rainbow Brite
The Chipmunks
Slap bands (they were banned at my school!) and friendship bracelets
Those fluro and black plastic sunglasses
Pacman

Chatter rings! Elastics, knuckle bones. Those cigarette lollies. Tamagotchi toys. Those baby dummy toys on a rope around your neck - were a fad, and pretty stupid!
Those little babies you got in a packet from the supermarket and the nappy changed colour - to pink or blue.
Fake tattoos.
Marbles @ lunchtime break.
Cops and robbers (a game), bullrush.

I miss all the old cartoons. I don't like any of the new ones. They are boring hehe.. they should bring back the flinstones, jetsons and the old looney tunes etc. They were awesome!

yay for mention of the oldies but goodies!! DH and I were commenting last night how terrible cartoons are now - and whether we would want our child to watch that rubbish!
I remember my My Child doll - have it in a box somewhere.
Punky Brewster was another great cartoon too

I was just about to ask if you guys had Punky Brewster here! I remember going to Warringah Mall with my Mum to go clothes shopping and getting a tracksuit with Punk Brewster on the front. I was sooooo in love with it. I must have been 6 or 7 coz I was only 8 when we came back to NZ.

For me my fav cartoon was Tomfoolery wiki link
The funny thing is that I seem to be almost the only person I know who remembers it - the fish in the bowl walking around on stilts, the works of Edward Lear.
