Hi

I was just wondering if anyone else is due in May 2007 and wanted to join me! I just got my first BFP on Saturday, and thought it would be great to be able to chat with others going through the same, maybe different, things at the same time!

Looking forward to chatting!

Hi Georgie, I'm due in April, but there is a May Mummy in or thread so I'm sure she will be joining you soon.

Hi Georgie K!

I am also due in May 2007, on the 29th so we're not too far apart! I just got my BFP yesterday on our first month of trying. So excited!!! Its still sinking in and I am just so grateful it happened so quickly for us. I have a doctors appointment to confirm the pregnancy on Monday so can't wait for that. Does anyone know when you should be contacting a midwife?

Oh yeah, and this is our first baby although my husband has a 10 year old son already

Hi Bayley! Congratulations on your BFP! It's so exciting yet so unbelievable at the same time! I went to my Dr on Monday and got my blood test results back today - all good and I'm definately PG! He gave me the numbers of some midwives to contact and suggested getting one asap as they book up really fast - especially the good ones! I left a message with one on Tuesday night (she was in the delievery suite!), and am still waiting to here back from her. I'm really hoping to get it sorted by the end of the week!

This is a first baby for me and DH too! Congratulations again!

Hi, yep I'm due sometime around the middle of May, it's all very new to me but this website is great for advice and putting minds at ease!! I've also got to be careful no one at work sees me on this website gossip spreads like wildfire here! Where is everyone from? I'm from UK originally but have been over here for 5 years and now live in Nelson.

Hi Cat. Glad to see you've joined us! Congratulations! Yes, it's a whole new world really! At the moment I'm trying to keep track with what I can and can't eat now! Everyday I seem to read somewhere about something else you're not meant to eat! Also, things you're not meant to apply, eg: Arnica! (I did my neck/back a couple of days ago, and now feel really guilty about getting DH to rub arnica anti-flam cream on it for me!)

Oh well, at least we're all learning together!

By the way, I'm in Christchurch. I've been living here for two years now.

Hi!

I just found out this week that I am pregnant! I am due May 16th 2007! It still doesnt feel real! I had my blood test to confirm, and my hcg level was 1700. Is this normal for 6 weeks?? I kind of felt that GPs arent so helpful for first time Mums. I had to go back on my own accord the next day to ask for a blood test to confirm the pregnancy! Does anyone else have any similar opinions?

Hi again

Thanks Maya!

Hi Mum3three!

Welcome Giselja. Congratulations! Another May baby! I agree that I am feeling a bit 'left in the dark' at this stage too! Even the midwife I left a message with on Tuesday hasn't gotten back to me yet! I feel that the best place at the moment to go to for answers to all my questions are sites like these! It's kind of strange too, because here we are all excited at just finding out about our PG and wanting to know all these things (blood levels, when do I get a scan, should I do this or that etc), and yet Drs don't want to see us anymore and we are too early for midwives too!

Cat, hope your day is going better! I have a meeting all afternoon today, so I'm not looking forward to that! I am feeling really tired today after not feeling too bad for the rest of the week. Thank goodness it's Friday!

Giselja - I posted a whole big spiel about hCG levels in the Scared of M/C thread, basically there is a huuuuuge variance of normal. But yours sound OK. The most important thing is how they increase - they should double every 2 days.

Thank you! I guess I am just like normal expenctant Mums! Esp because I have had surgery 4 times for severe endometriosis over the last 7 years and have been off all contraception for 8 months and finally, I conceived and I had no idea I had! I just feel that this is the miracle that has been waiting to happen. I have just found a midwife, as there seems to be a shortage here in auckland, so even more stoked! I just feel nervous because my last period 6 weeks ago was a very light period and it was 2 weeks late and it lasted for only a day, which is a bit unnormal for me. But this website is excellent!

Hi everyone. Just thought I'd pop in to see what everyone has been up to! Well, after a lot of phone calls, I have finally found a midwife, which I am really pleased about! I just can't believe how quickly they book up! Everyone I called seemed to be booked up until 1 June 2007! In between tears (hormones!) thinking I'd never find one, I was really starting to believe that people must book them before they're PG - just in case!

So what PG signs do you have? So far, I have been getting mild AF-like cramps - mainly at nights, and I have also been really, really thirsty! My breasts have also continued to be a bit tender. No m/s yet! Does anyone else ever stop and wonder if they are still PG because things don't feel any different really than before PG?? I just can't wait until the end of the first trimestre, so hopefully I can stop worrying a bit!

Well, I have my first midwife appointment tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully I'll be inundated with lots of information! I am meant to be playing in a touch tournament this Saturday. I really want to pull out, but they will be short if I do, so kind of feel obliged. Although, I'm sure I'll be worried the whole time!

Anyway, I hope that everyone has had great weekends! Looking forward to catching up with you all.

Lucky you Georgie K not having morning sickness yet. I feel horrible, but trying to put a brave face on it so no one at work guesses. I was talking to my best friend on Saturday who never had any sickness or pains, she slept like a log every night etc - the perfect pregnancy - I'm jealous! I've found a midwife, got lots of info, she suggested eating ginger biscuits before I get out of bed in the morning!

I've heard that ginger is great for m/s. Also have heard that dry crackers first thing in the morning can help! I'm still waiting for it to hit every day! My manager always heats his lunch and eats it in the office, and I have to admit the smell of that today when I was feeling hungry, wasn't the best! My sense of smell is really heightened too. I put a new deodorant on today and it's all I've been able to smell all morning (well, until my manager's lunch)! It's so bad I think I'll have to stop in at the supermarket and buy another one tonight!

Just thought I'd pop in and add, that as of now, I have my midwife booked! Yeah! She is going to send out the forms for a 12-week scan tomorrow. I am sure that this is now going to feel like the longest 7 weeks of my life!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Oh blimey, this m/s is not good! I can't concentrate at work, keep having to disappear and throw up, can't stand the smell or taste of ginger anymore, have tried vitamin B6 crackers in the morning (they work for a couple of mins), my midwife suggested wearing those travel bands but how the hell am I going to explain that to everyone who are bound to ask? Funnily enough the only time I don't feel sick is when I'm eating and for about 2 mins after then the nausea comes back, but I can't eat 24/7! Anyone got any other "remedies" I'll try anything.....
