Topic: Threatened Miscarriage?? Posted: 28 January 2008 at 6:36pm |
Suddenly my bbs don't feel sore and I have very light brown spotting...is this a threatened miscarriage? What do I do? Sit and wait? Get an HCG test?
I was so relaxed until now. And I had a mochalatte today so now I feel really guilty!

*Hugs* I'm not sure what else to say. Don't feel guilty about the mochalatte, I highly doubt this has anything to do with the spotting. Isn't spotting early in pregnancy fairly normal??? I have my fingers crossed that it is nothing! Thinking of you

Ummm, its so hard to judge what brown spotting can be...sometimes its ok sometimes its not.
For me, I had lack of symptoms and then started spotting brown, and I ended up having a scan which showed just a sac measuring 5 weeks and no baby(I was supposed to be 7 weeks) and then the next day I miscarried. I had had hcg levels tested aswell and they were going down, but I didnt know that till after I m/c.
Dont feel guilty, I highly doubt that if you are having a m/c it has anything to do with the mochalatte**hugs**
Ring your midwife or doc and get hcg done, and also maybe ask if you can have a scan, it will really put your mind at ease.

Text me! Big hugs! I'm sure everything is fine. I've had weeks and weeks worth of spotting with this pregnancy, and with the gremlins too and all is well. If it's brown and old-looking, try not to read too much into it (don't worry, I know that's almost impossible!)as it could be just implantation bleeding, irritation near the cervix, or even a pseudo-AF. The boobs thing doesn't mean anything coz symptoms come and go like that.
When I miscarried the bleeding started out bright red and clotty, I knew straight away that it was all over.
What's happening is still termed a threatened miscarriage, any bleeding before 20 weeks is, but that doesn't mean you will miscarry. Keep an eye on the spotting and give your midwife a call and see about maybe getting your hCG levels done. There's no point having a scan at this stage as you can't see the heartbeat till 6 1/2-7 weeks.
More big hugs, call me if you need anything?

I called around some midwives a couple of weeks ago but no one will see me until 8 weeks pregnancy so I kinda have one but kinda don't. Can go to my doc I guess but....I WANNA KNOW NOW! I'm an impatient kinda gal!
Can sore bbs really come and go? They were sore this morning...

Yep they sure can! As can nausea and all other pregnancy symptoms just to make us all neurotic and crazy!
I'd say go to the doc in the morning, the only way to find out now would be to turn up at the WAU at Ak hospital and have them do urgent bloods.

Teehee, I've SO done that. Then you don't know whether they're sore coz you've been poking them or sore coz of hormones etc.!
Blah, early pregnancy sucks! If you were a few weeks further I'd say come over and use the doppler for peace of mind but your bub is too small for that yet.

Oh, hang in there Fi! Fingers cross that this little one sticks, and that the spotting is nothing. I know a few people who spot all through their pregnancies and they have beautiful babies now.

Fingers crossed Fiona!! Try not to worry too much, though coming from me I know that's fine advice!!
I do agree that it's unlikely the bbs getting "unsore" is at all related... you would expect the soreness to taper off rather than just go away suddenly if it were related to a miscarriage.
I would ask your doc for a morning HCG test, they should have your results back to you by the afternoon.
And as for me... I have made a good habit of wiping before I pee, and after, and checking both for anything untoward!!

When I was really early in my pregnancy like you are, I had MEGA spotting with yucky brown clots and all that. was really gross, but everything was fine. Like with others, when I MC'd when I was really young, it was red and bloody and nasty. You can demand to see a MW, but your GP and the nurses there will be able to sort you out :D GL!
