OK, rhetorical question, there is nothing I CAN do, but I am getting frustrated My poor poxy, spotty Mercedes has been screaming intermittently since I put her to bed at 7pm. I got her up about 1/2 hour ago and gave her a bottle and she's been quiet ever since but just now she started screaming again. It's not constant, she's quiet on and off, and I know the spots must be bugging her, but what can I do? I feel awful leaving her to cry, but if I pick her up to rock her she thinks it's playtime, and she's been dosed with Pamol and Phenargan so she's all drugged out. Ugh!

What about a bath? My mum always said when I got really grizzly and unsettled as a baby and she was at the end of her rope, she'd run a really deep bath and sit me in the warm water up to my neck and I'd calm down and go to sleep after. Good opportunity to put some baking soda or other anti-itch stuff in as well, might help settle her?

Or what about the pram? Does she settle well with movement?

Commiserations and fingers crossed for you that she settles down soon. Good luck!

We're about to head off to bed, fully expecting to be woken up in about half an hour - DD isn't settling well tonight either and she doesn't even have the chicken pox to excuse her.

Not sure if this will be of much help - with the girls alergies - When I got eczema really bad & had that mad insane hot itch I used to soak either my hands or a flannel in cold milk & pinetarsol which used to help heaps, you may want to stay away from the milk but maybe try putting some pinetarsol in the fridge to keep it cool for dabbing on spots if she is getting too hot.
Hope she has settled for you

She grizzled on and off for ages, mostly in her sleep, but this morning they both went down for a nap at 9.45 and slept until 11.45 when I had to wake them to take Maya to preschool. And they were reasonably happy. Fingers crossed they settle OK tonight coz I have yoga and Willie will go nuts if they scream for him!

Don't know if you saw it in my other post re: pox.. but I swear by homeopathic Rhus Tox..comes in liquid form and you get it from the pharmacy. It's Weleda brand. Ella went from not sleeping at all for 2 nights to sleeping peacefully.
I used it for about 5 days until the spots and itchiness calmed down.
