Topic: Honey Child Nappies offer-research Posted: 27 August 2007 at 9:06am |
Just doing a bit of research as our offer for a free HC nappy with a pack hasn't been as successful as the free Fuzzi Bunz nappy with a pack
What would you prefer a free nappy or a cheaper nappy pack? Feel free to offer a suggestion if neither apply

i think you have to give people a chance to get to know the new brand. Just cause it is almost the same as a fuzzi doesnt mean people are instantly going to want it. and when people hear it is nz made they dont expect to have to pay as much as for an imported nappy.
for me i would prefer cheaper.

Fair comments, but do remember what you get with the free nappy offer $35 off a 6-pack of nappies AND a free one with an insert, also when you buy a pack of HC nappies you get a free extra insert, that is on top of our offer.
I completely agree with your comment Debs about them being similar to FBs, and agree that is not enough to sway people, that's why there is a 30 day money back offer if you really don't like them (pretty generous I think, but I'm biased lol)
So what would you expect to pay for a high end NZ-Made pocket nappy? (Seriously!) Your feedback is appreciated and will be sent on to our Head Office

i wasn't aware of the honeychild nappy offer, just the fuzzi one. for reference, i'd rather have cheaper nappy packs than free nappies
as for price, the most i've paid for a nz made nappy is $27 with an insert so i wouldn't pay anymore than that

With an insert i wouldnt really want to pay much more than $30 for a pocket nappy made in NZ.
I have paid about that for an ecobubs pocket nappy but i certainly wouldnt buy one of those now that the price has gone up either...and i consider their inserts superior.!
maybe a free postage deal would be a good way to hook people - i'm not sure how much you charge for postage but i always hate paying that extra..

Either offer would sway me I think. I think FB are over-priced and a fair price would be $20 ex insert or $25 incl insert.

The most I have spent on a pocket nappy (with insert included) is $32 for a BG and that's a OS pocket. For a sized pocket made in NZ the most I have spent is $27 with insert and wouldn't go over that.

The most I'd spend on a pocket nappy (with insert) now is $27 simply because there are so many brands out there now and why pay more when something cheaper does the exact same job just as well and I'm finding the cheaper ones do better than my more expensive ones.

i found using the honeychild nappies after the fuzzys that the HC changes ARE worth it especially the side snaps! theyv been a huge bonus for my boy with fat legs and slightly smaller belly!
Im happy with either free nappy or cheaper nappies and if i had taken the time to look at the HC thread with the free nappy etc i wouldv gone for it! what i bugger!!

I'm not going to go there with how much I'd pay for a nappy, coz I own far too many nappies that have cost in excess of $30 and just ordered two more Bubblebubs at $34-odd each so I'm not a good test case, I'm hopeless.
But I do think that the new HC nappies are pricing themselves out of the general market. If you're trying to get people to use them as a complete system then it works out a lot more expensive than some of the cheaper local options (eg. Tweedle). I know they are supposedly better quality (I only say supposedly coz I haven't tried them so can't compare) than some of the cheaper ones, but I know for a lot of people at the end of the day, a nappy is a nappy and as long as it doesn't leak they're going to go with the cheaper one.
Can't wait to try the HC nappies tho, I ordered scrummy Tangerine ones...

I know I wouldn't pay anymore than $30 dollars for a nappy.
I think cheaper nappy packs would be more tempting than a free nappy.

I took think HCs are a bit on the expensive side for an NZ made nappy, but HCs are made in a factory with over heads so they will never be as cheap as a WAHM making them in her "spare time" and probably not even paying taxes so WAHM nappies are always going to be cheaper.
Just as a side issue with quality Vs Price. I just recently bought a Bug print FB from GandT who used that on both her boys for probably 12mths+ (feel free to correct me Debs)and it's still in good condition and keeps Caitlin just as dry as her newer FBs, I think that is awesome value for money

I'm a bit disappointed with my Ecobubs for that reason actually Toni, I paid $30 each for them thinking I could onsell them for around 1/2 that once the gremlins were done with them, but they haven't stood up to washing very well
I have to say my Fuzzis have been around the neighbourhood on Caitlin's butt, Elle's butt and now they're on Isla's butt and they don't show their age at all, they still look brand new. And they are probably my most-used nappy coz I know they're reliable no matter what I put in them.

I am actually feeling a little offended by this comment
My sister in law runs a business from home and it is far from 'spare time' work - just different hours to what 'people who go to work' do. I think anyone who runs a proper business would be paying tax if they are going about it the right way so I think that was a little off to make a comment like that (just my TCW). Factory produced products should be cheaper or at least cost next to nothing to produce.
