My district voting papers arrived in the mail today and I am reminded of one of the US Presidents' quotes that "Every man over 40 is responsible for his own face". What a range of faces and expressions in there! Do you think people's voting would be different if there were no photos to go for - only names and comments?

We got ours too, and I would be happiest to vote for the person who didn't polute the streets with those ugly billboards.

I think some people will recognise a face better... my mum is in our local body election... she has been on the community board for years. Some people dont know her name but have seen her at events like anzac day etc so will recognise her face and maybe/hopefully vote for her!

I hope mum gets in this time... Im pretty sure she will but you never know I guess!!

LOL Fleur! I don't mind the billboards actually, at least they are actively pursing the role. I have voted some fresh spirit in HRC... let's see what comes of it.

Last time I voted for the lovely candidate that came and knocked on our door and asked for our vote. I've never had that before and was surprised that people still come knocking on our door.

Wow you only just got yours. I've had mine since Friday. I already know who i'm voting for, but if they didn't have the thing in it with the blurb and photo I would struggle with the health board ones.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I got mine yesterday. I am half inclined to listen to Billy Connolly. He says "Don't vote, it only encourages them!" Hehe.

That is my DH and after I told him he can't complain about the rates we pay he changed his mind.
