Yip last Thursday I thought I will start saying please a bit more when she asks me for something so she can start getting in the habit already. (it is only this last month that she really is saying a lot of words we understand)
So when she comes to ask for boobie I say and say boobie please. So she goes booooob peeeece or uppie peeece. (Cant say the l yet.)
So hubby heard this for the first time on Saturday. But not this rascall think she is so cute. She doesnt get anymore boob after 7 at night but now she goes peece peeece with the head to the one side totally smiling at you and rubbing my tummy at the same time. Aaah man it is so hard to say no now.
I wouldnt be so worried at all. McKayla's vocabulary was really really slow this year. I mean when I heard the people saying their kids speak sentences and they are like around McKayla's age or younger I totally freaked.
This last month she started saying words. More animal sounds. Knows her parts of her face. Knows animals and can say quite a few. And the only sentences she say now is uppie please. Boobie please. That is a fill in the word. And I love you.
Other stuff is still babble. I did ask the dr about this and she said just as long as they can say 2 words together by 2. Otherwise they are just a late talker.
So please dont be worried at all. I was freaked but realise she is ahead in some other stuff and will caths up with the others.
Thanx Smoody I keep reading these things on 18 month deveolpment and Jack is not even nearly saying what they say. I think he said no mum today but thats the closest we have come to a sentence lol. He is increasing his words so I guess he will get there in the end.
I kept on going from site to site as I was seriously worried about McKayla. I mean she said nanna for mamma at 3 and a half months already. Knew all the cats name and could say Daddy at 6 months. And then almost nothing from 12 months to 18 months. And then slowly it is a word here and there. I really wont be worried at all.
Does he understand you however? Like if you ask him to do something. Like bring me your plate or where is your shoes ect. If he understands I wont worry at all. He might just all of a sudden come with all these words. Literally McKayla couldnt make any animal sounds as such (okay didnt really teach her that.) But within a month she knows most animals. Can say there name and make the noises. Kid you not. Just happened this last month.
Yeah he follows intrusctions really well. He just randomly started pointing to eyes and saying eyes and the same with ears and nose, I hadn't even taught him that so he must be ok he just choses not to talk.
It might not be that he choses not to speak. It might be that he is so busy taking stuff in and absorbing it that he doesnt allow it to come out as such. Which is a good thing as he is taking in so much. I think that is what happened to McKayla. And now she is concentrating on letting it out.
