Dumb questions BUT does anyone know if you can take your laptop and a wireless internet thingy to the hospital while you are there? I don't see why not but then I was told you weren't by a friend.

I would contact the hospital to find out. When I was hspitalised at 11 1/2 weeks DH bought the laptop up so I could watch movies. I know some reading material even says no mobile phones, but double check before you head in.

I think they say no mobile phones beacuse they can interfere with some of the machines but in your actual room I don't see why not. Do check tho

Research has actually shown that there is very little interference from mobile phones with medical equipment (Drs carry pagers and they are more likely to cause problems!!) but some hospitals still have policies on the use of any wireless technology including wireless internet. It shouldnt be a problem at NSH - but it would pay to check with the Charge Nurse first. If they give you techno babble excuses - PM me and let me know, I used to work with all the IS guys at NSH so can see what I can do!

BS took her's in (well BSDH did) when she had miss Ella.

I had my phone on all the time and had no issues here in Palmy. Only time I did turn it off what when I was having the CTG done, while I was still pregnant.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

LOL Becks I was about to say the same thing! BS and BSDH were online pretty much the whole time, I think they would have had the laptop in the OT during the c-sect if they could!
