In an ambulance We had just sang happy birthday and blown the candles out, he was eating some birthday cake when his eyes started to swell, then his cheeks started to swell and his lips doubled in size. His face became paralysed and he was droulling (sp?) and couldnt move his lips.......This all happened within minutes. the paramedics arrived and treated him and we were taken to hosp for more test. We were finally able to come home after 10pm.

What a way to end his first birthday. I am sooo greatful for the awesome service of the paramedics and I am just sooo thankful my wee boy is ok.

It is one of the most horrific thing I have ever seen in my life watching your baby getting so sick within minutes.

Big hugs to all the mums that have children with severe allergies!!

Hugest hugs Kels!! What a day for that to happen. How are you all feeling now? Any ideas what caused it? Hope you have recovered from the shock and feeling ok.

Im still in shock and feeling a bit overwhelmed by the whole thing. I cannot express the terror I felt and the sinking of heart that I couldnt do anything to help. I felt so useless and so scared because I knew what was coming next and I knew I needed help immediately and time just felt sooooo slow waiting for the ambos.

Alize is a box of birds today, his eyes are swollen but def not to the extent last night and he is covered in a red rash that is very itchy, otherwise he is cruising around the house laughing and talking to his sisters.

I thought it was the fresh cream he had but talking with the Dr's it seems it is the egg white that is the culprit
