Topic: HELP - those with 2 or more under 3 Posted: 27 November 2007 at 2:58pm |
....do you use a toddler seat / double buggy?
I think i've done something very stupid. I was so over our dumb bertini buggy that doesn't sit upright properly that I went a got a mountain buggy (naughty). However, I've just discovered that they don't do toddler seats, only those toddler board thingys.
Our plan is to eventually have 2 under 3 so I think I've done a very stupid thing. Do you often put both kids in the pushchair? If yes, I'd better take it back and hope they give refunds! It's still in the box.
Argh.

Teehee go Fiona!
I found that by the time Maya was 2-3 she didn't go in the buggy so much anyway, we only really used it when we went out on day trips to the zoo etc. in which case Elle would be fine on a kiddie board.

I'm really really really naughty. I just adore the latest MB and it was either that or get an umbrella stroller now and a new buggy when we get the next baby as Elle hates our pushchair. I decided that instead of having a pushchair and an umbrella stroller I'd just get a nice pushchair. But now I'm freaking out!!!!!!

Going to take it back :( Don't want to risk having to buy another one later when we have 2. So disappointed! :(

Teehee, but just point out how stylish it is, and how much you'll get back when you sell it on TM, and how stylish it is...

The main point is that it sits upright for Elle! And that it looks stylish.
Oh man I feel stink now. Damn it Mountain Buggy...why can't you just do a toddler seat.

Why a pain Deb? I thought it seemed like the best / easiest to use of all of them.

It was too wide and despite being light it was unwieldy and the front wheel would keep locking up on me, which makes it really hard to steer. There were so many shops that we couldnt negotiate because it is just so wide. oh and the tyres needed to be pumped up constantly...I didnt like it half as much as i thought i would.
my advice stands, take it back and when the time comes that you have another then see whats on the market... why dont you borrow emmas smaller stroller for a while? see if elle likes it or not and will sit in a different one?

Elle likes her Nana's umbrella stroller.
I am taking it back.
I did do lots of research so I guess we'll just have to cope without a chair for a while.

just sell what you've got and get an umbrella stroller - maybe one like what nana has - or borrow emmas one - she doesnt need it cause its been sitting in my car since kels left!

I just made a silly decision as Elle was tired and needing to go home. I usually just walk away and go back later but I made a mistake this time. No loss though as they refund :) I'm an idiot.
ETA - we need a buggy as we do lots of long walks on rugged ground. An umbrella stroller is no good for that + DH hates them as they are too low for him.

I LOVE my Mountain Buggy, it suits me perfectly as I walk alot on bumpy roads around by our house!
FionaS We have an umbrella stroller too for the mall, its just from Farmers $89 and my DH can push it easily as it has really high handles for him, that is one thing we definately needed in our buggy purchases (he is 6ft 3)!

My buggy is a mare around the malls but its brilliant when taking my dogs out down the river/forest etc. Might have to get an umbrella one as they sound quite cool and cheap. I pretty much wiped out all of paper plus just trying to get a birthday card a few weeks ago...hehe

I would take it back too. Especially since you're already regretting the price you paid! And then make a decision when you do get pg. A year between 2 and 3 really does make all the difference. Briona would be happy on a trolley thingy now (she's past 2 yrs) but up to 2yrs would have got too tired too quick.
I have a double umbrella stroller for up town and a chunky old mountain buggy (triton trekker) with toddler seat for going for walks around home. Definitely like having 2 seats!
