At the moment my vege garden is doing really well. But I need some ideas of new things to plant for the coming months and for next summer please.

Get the NZ Gardner special magazine thats out now called 'Homegrown'. Its $15 and is in monthly chapters and has what to sow, harvest and preserve etc each month.

Mmmm berries. We're still sorting out the garden so haven't planted anything yet, but once we get there I plan to have loads of berries esp blueberries and raspberries as I love them and I'm sure the kids will too

We bought a blueberry plant not long ago & just have to take the bulbs out of the container that I'm going to plant in. Its going into a 1/2 wine barrel now just have to think what I will put in the other one

I will have to get that magazine next month definatly. I'm getting a raspberry cutting after this season. Might try garlic that could be fun.

Thanks for that piece of advice. My roses are out the front and my vege garden is out the back so should be all good.
Where can I get garlic bulbs from??

You can plant the garlic cloves you get from the supermarket. Have you noticed how garlic sprouts if you leave it too long in the cupboard.

Um no I buy garlic in a jar  . I'll buy a garlic bulb in the next groceries and stick it in the cupboard to sprout.

garlic is very much like the onion family, when you get a clove from the supermarket, split it up into single bulbs. When you plant it, just cover the top so its not too deep. 'normally' you would plant them on the shortest day of the year (ie 21/22 june) & they are sposed to be ready longest day of the year. They are great for planting with tomatoes - help keep white fly away
you can also get garlic chives which are great in salads, egg sandwiches etc, we may have some going to seed, if it does will send you some.
you could also try celery

I had a look at the Palmers website and it has so much info about planting. When the boys go to sleep I am going to have a good look through it.
Celery I *think* I tried it last year and it went to seed - can always try it again.
Bugger I am going to be out of the country on the shortest day - hopefully I can plant it earlier.
