Topic: Projecting night lights Posted: 22 February 2008 at 12:00pm |
Looking for one at the moment as Jack lies awake for ages cooing. I would love him to have something to look at but he gets bored by things that don't move! So I thought maybe a night light that projects onto the roof would be cool? Has anyone had one? Pros and cons?
I found one for $59 at babystuff. Probably thinking he would need a mobile too though?

Phillips make a cool one, not sure how much $$$ it is tho.
We just had mobiles for our kids.
I know BS had an Ocean Wonders thing for BBS and she loved it.

Cool, looked at that one just now. It's $75 but looks pretty good. I think mum might be planning to buy one for us *fingers crossed*. Jack's just so nosey I really want something for him to look at instead of just lying there as he gets agitated.

We have the phillips projector and love it - the only sucky thing is how fast it goes through batteries so my advice would be to invest in rechargables for it!!
Sam has always gotten alot of enjoyment out of hers though

Glow in the dark stars were a great buy for us, cheap as and kept Ella and Benjy busy chatting to them until they nodded off.
Second what Emma said about the Phillips light too, some friends had one and their boy loved it day or night!

We used a musical motion mobile which DH got from flybuys. Michaela loved it! It plays for 15 mins.
Never tried night lights but thought the fisher price aquarium thingee was very cool.

we have the aquarium, i bought it 2nd hand off trademe and Tyde loves it.. it goes through the batteries fast if you have it on the'bubbles' and music mode, but I've had it on the light and music mode for ages andit hasn't run out. Tyde turns it on himself and rolls the shell thing on the front. the music goes for quite a while too.

Mum got a Winnie the pooh mobile from oz which the light projects stars onto the ceiling James loves it. He turns the light on by himself now it also plays heaps of songs and last for about 15minsand you can take the mobile bit of too when the get big enough to grab it.

We've got a Tomy one too. It's in the shape of a star and plays for either 5 or 10 mins, projects really cute pictures of teddies onto the ceiling and has a few different tunes. I can't remember how much it cost but it was relatively cheap!

Mum splashed out and got a Fisher Price musical mobile/nightlight that has the side nightlight, plays Beethoven, Mozart, Bach and lullabies, has two spinning things on the mobile and then a rotating light with projecting stars for the ceiling. So cool! I'm very jealous as I would love to have stars projected onto my ceiling to help me sleep!
