When did people stop sleeping on their tummies?
I have been a tummy sleeper since day dot and I am finding it really uncomfortable and the baby seems to protest too so am trying to stop sleeping on my tum but keep waking up on my tum all uncomfy and sore.
they say to stop when you feel uncomfy...i always used to but felt too guilty in the beginning..even though i later learnt its fine till you are uncomfy.. i really struggled to get back into the habit since I haven 't been pregnant..lol.. though its so much more comfy! i think its part of the reason i slept so bad during the pregnancy.
You could always try a nest of pillows around you so that you're on your tum, but not putting weight on it IYKWIM? I used a long body pillow curled in a horse shoe (slept like that the night I went into labour) though it might depend how 'big' your belly is - mine didn't get very big.
Oooh, I have been thinking about that too. I am a chronic tummy sleeper... it feels soooo good. But I have been feeling guilty as I am scared I might be squashing little Flicker!!
I was never really a tummy sleeper but sometimes Id lie on my tummy. I stopped when it felt uncomfy and it felt like I was lying on a football, now its just impossible to lie on my tummy.
I now sleep on my side with a pillow between my knees and one wedged under my tummy/side. I kinda sleep hugging the pillow, soooo comfy!
I used to sleep on my tummy but since I was pg with DD I havent been able to sleep like that and thats now 3 1/2 years ago!
I think that you naturally stop sleeping on your tummy and back and have no option but to sleep on the sides.
At 8 weeks (Currently 12) I found it was starting to get uncomfortable. Now have a pillow that I sleep on. Sort of half side, half tummy and this seems to take any pressure off while still letting me get to sleep in a (semi) normal position
