Hey, just thought someone else may have experienced this.

Due date and fundal height measured the same right up until 30 weeks, then the fundal height dropped two weeks behind.
And has remained two weeks behind up until last week when i saw m/w.
Saw m/w today and now saying 4 1/2 weeks behind?
Baby still laying in same position and hasnt engaged yet - so its not that baby laying different.
Asked her if we should be concerned she said "doctor wasnt"
saw doctor 3 weeks ago.
Said she may send me for scan next week..... I'm due next week!

Anyone else had this happen?

I presume that you are having good foetal movements?

My sister reducd in size slightly at the end by 2 weeks. They put this down to a few things including less amniotic fluid. But the mw etc were not concerned so she didnt worry and her daughter is a healthy 8 year old now!

Rosewood is right, it could be reduced fluid, or the position that bubs is lying in. Fundal height can drop once bub is engaged, but I wouldn't have thought 4 1/2cm.

IMO, don't wait till Friday. Ask you m/w to arrange a CTG today to check on how baby is doing, and for a scan over the next couple of days to check fluid. I had to have CTG's every 2 days with the gremlins as my Sienna didn't move much and fetal movements are really the only way you have of measuring bubs health.

I agree with Emma, ask to be monitored now. I had reduced fluid to the point of having to be induced. I think its better to be save than sorry.

My fundal height has dropped a bit (measuring 36cm @ 38 weeks) however my mw said this is because bubs has dropped/engaged. I think you should follow up with your mw and get bubs checked out.

I agree that it's probably because of dropping but if you aren't getting movements today, insist on at least a foetal heart monitor NOW!

Bubs could have become slightly growth restricted, but not enough to worry about inducing. I was *supposed* to be induced because of IUGR with Jack but the hospital was too busy. He turned out fine anyway, will just take a while to get a big puku as his is 4 weeks behind the rest of his body. My FH was always normal, then at 28weeks it quickly dropped in growth until I was 5 weeks behind and had constant monitoring. He ended up having a growth spurt so was in the "safe" zone. 6lb is a good size, I think Jack was just under at your stage, he dropped from the top 75% to the bottom 35% in the matter of 6 weeks.

Try not to worry, but definitely check foetal movements, and if in any doubt, ring your m/w and if she sucks, ring the hospital to get a CTG done.
