Hi
My son is still being wrapped for all of his sleeps. If he does manage to get out of his wraps, he wakes himself up 
If I pop him into his cot without any wraps he doesn't go to sleep...he's generally too busy flapping his arms about. He can fall asleep in his car seat/pram with no wraps, but not his cot
Any suggestions on how I can wean him off from being wrapped?
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated

I weaned Maya cold turkey, but I weaned the gremlins by wrapping them with only one arm out to start with, then both arms out but still wrapped, then eventually no wrap at all.

I kept on wrapping Isla til like 10 months I think. We were happy to keep doing it tho. You could try doing it looser, then one arm out etc.

We were the same as Emma, unwrapped 1 arm for 3 nights, then both arms unwrapped for another 3 nights then just the wrap around his boddy for another 3 nights. This worked well for us

I wrapped Ethan untill about 11 months, he just slept better that way. Started by sneakily loosening the wrap when he was asleep, then unwrapping him when he was down for a the night, in a deep sleep. He stayed wrapped in the day for longer. It was a process for us since he was such a wrap boy..good luck.

Spencer was happy to just go cold turkey, but then I think the attachment was mine not his. He is now in a peke moe though (for cuteness more than anything) but they are suppose to be a great step from wrapping to unwrapping as they are fully enclosed still but with more freedom.

Wow theres no way I'd be able to keep Lucas in a wrap nowadays, he managed to get out of them from about 4.5 months, started with the hands escaping, and then he knew how to roll and unravel it ...I became rather paranoid about him not letting me wrap him but i had to give in. Then he started sleeping on his tummy and now he's all around the cot.
I agree with Emma, slowly wean over a matter of time, leaving one arm out to begin with, then after 3-7days two arms ....then leave the wrap loosely around bub and then no wrap etc etc

we use a Peke Moe! 
Tyde was a great sleeper when wrapped/swaddled, but as soon as he started to 'breakfree' woke regularly during the night. That's when my mum and I developed the Peke Moe. I was skeptical, but he transferred immediately to it. I've had great feedback (check out my feedback page on my site).
Other options are to start loosening the wrap/swaddle during day naps.. and try with one arm unwrapped... You can also go cold turkey and it will probably just take a few days to a week for him to adjust. I continue with the Peke Moe as it's awesome for us... Tyde is 13months now and is cosy and snug all night, but can 'move' around his cot so isn't 'restricted'. He also has a great association with the Peke Moe as a sleep cue.. he will now walk into his room and come out with the PEke Moe when he's ready for his nap! and smiles and giggles when I put it on him.!! all the best!

I use a pekemoe too Nikki! Luke sleeps really well in it. I still wrap sometimes during the day, when I wash the pekemoe - so not available for use.
The pekemoe seems to hold his arms in a bit tighter, while also keeping them covered all night - doesn't matter too much if he kicks covers off!

Nikki I rang plunketline yesterday about the wrapping (among other things..) and they said not to worry about it and that she would learn to manage her arms in her own time.
I'd quite like to wean her of some of her sleeping vices though, so I'll be interested in how you get on - surely it won't be as hard as ditching the dummy!

I still wrap James now and then, if he's not going to bed with a bottle of water.
He feels secure being wrapped so I will change it when it coolds down and he's ready for a sleeping bag at night time but atm he's happy and sleeps and thats all I care about.
I was thinking a while back I should try wean him, but he will wean himself when he's ready
I might have a looksie at that peke moe, sounds like a good idea.
