Topic: Second pregnancy and gender Posted: 28 March 2008 at 8:00pm |
Hi
Just curious whether those of you who have had two or more children felt different or the same with different pregnancies.
ie if your pregnancy felt the same was the babies gender the same? If it felt different was the gender different?
I don't know if I have explained that very clearly so I hope someone knows what I am meaning.

I had a girl the first time round. This time I have been well throughout again but bump is much more out front instead of all around this time. Only 5 weeks till I find out what flavour this one is. We think a boy??!!??
Sorry - this hasnt helped answer you question!

I would have NO idea lol, all mine are pink ones, but I can say every pregnancy has been different. I've carried differently too, am carrying Iggle Piggle in much the same way as I did the gremlins which is much more out front than I carried Maya.

My first two pregnancies, the babies felt quite different. Turns out first was anterior and second posterior and about 6cm taller at birth. Both girls though

Both of mine were boys. I didn't know Andrew was a boy I just guessed he was. My pregnancy with Josh at the beginning was different. I had MS and I didn't get it with Andrew so we thought Josh was a girl, but once I started feeling the movement I knew that I was carrying another boy. Can't remember about the shape of my bump though sorry.

both of mine have been the complete opposites. with the first (a girl) i had terrible morning sickness ,and felt terrible. but throughout the rest of the pregnancy i felt great.
this time around (a boy) i didnt have as much morning sickness, but i had terrible headaches.
im all baby this pregnancy, and ive got awful aches and pains - could be just the re-stretching of everthing though

both of mine were different, I looked roughly the same mostly but carried ayja differently as she was transverse lie up till about 33 weeks if i remember,
It felt different though - i was convinced ayja was a boy right up till the scan, and made them check twice, then made them check again at my later scan.
I ate different things, did different things, The morning sickness and nausea was about the same though and carrie don for about the same amount of time, i had more medical probs with ayja but nope.. really they both felt reallly different from one another, and both were girls - very different girls, but girls none the less.
I must say though that the pregnancy that i miscarried felt REALLLLLY different from the get go, i got big, bloated, heavy, the nausea was crazy-overwhelming, the tiredness was like nothing i'd felt before and my HCG levels initially were thru the roof whereas my girls ones had been just about right for dates - I really wonder if that one would have been a boy, or if it was all just because of high levels related to something not being ok.

With Rico was I sick as a dog for the first 14 weeks, and the heartbeat (in my MW's POV) was swaying towards it being a boy. She was right.
With Gia, I wasn't as sick during the first trimester, but MW still though due to the heartbeat, i was having another boy. I was carrying different though, more out front. With Rico he must've been in my back, and sides.
With Jett, I was just as sick as I was with Gia, not as bad as I was with Rico. The heartbeat swayed toward a girl (again MW POV), and I carried all out the front again. So I assumed that I was having another girl. But TA-DA! Out popped another boy!
So even though my pregnancies with Gia and Jett were very similiar, they were different genders. So you never can tell .

I felt quite similar with both pregnancies, but carried differently. I was much more 'out the front' with Sophie than I was with Alex. Both times we didn't find out babies sex, and both times I had strong feeling as to what baby would be, and was right!!

So interesting to read all your responses. Thanks.
Nicolaann you just answered the question I was about to ask: Did you have a gut feel of gender and were you right?
I think most of my friends have been right with their gut feel. I was sure Oliver was a boy and he was.
Thanks for all your responses. It is interesting.

I had gut feeling Rico was a boy, but that could've been because my MW was sure it was. I had no gut feeling with Gia, but went with MW's feeling of it being a boy. Then with Jett I thought, without MW saying anything, that it was a girl. So I was totally wrong with him and Gia.

I had a gut feeling with Maya and was right, had no clue with the gremlins, and was absolutely convinced this one was a boy, I STILL can't believe she's a girl!
