I don't know much about either of these.
H seems to be very fussy/unsettled at night, she sleeps really well in the day and takes feeds well. But at night she starts to feed then pulls away and moans, she doesn't cry, more like a grunt I guess. Occassionally I'll sit her up and she will bring up wind, sometimes she spills a little.
Then I'll put her back on and she will continue feeding.
At night I'll feed her and put her back down and often about 30 mins later she wakes up crying, not hard crying. Just like she's very unsettled. So sometimes I'll pick her up and she will bring up wind but other times there's not wind and she just seems like she might be in a little bit of pain.

Sometimes I bring her into bed with us and feed her or just try to get her to sleep. But she seems to lie there and pull her legs up and wriggle around alot and make noises like she's uncomfortableand will occassionally cry, but not for long.
Also during the day she will cry out in her sleep, sometiems a really intense cry and then all of a sudden she stops.

So it makes me think that she's in a bit of pain at times and it seems to be worse at night.
I have no idea if this sounds like either colic or reflux or if it could just be a wind problem. But she never seems to have problems bringing up wind.

Oh and last night she vomited after I picker her up from lying down and it was like curdled milk andvery thick. I've never seen it like that.

That sounds like wind to me. Especially with pulling her legs up. Even if she brings wind up fine or it doesn't seem like she has any she may well have lower down and its causing her pain. Have you tried gripe water and infacol? (I'm not sure what age you are allowed to start giving infacol at though).

I think her wind is probably causing her to spill. I know sometimes if I do a weird burp it feels like stomach acids have started to come up

Daniel use to have a bit of problem with my let down. It was just too fast and he was gulping in masses of air and generally just too much milk for him to handle.

It doesn't sound like reflux to me unless she's arching her back or anything like that while feeding or after feeding?

I pretty much agree with what Stacey was saying.

Most little babies are quite spilly. Chloe was terrible, fountains of vomit everywhere! Now we give her gaviscon because of reflux and colic, and she just does little thick vomits. Don't worry about the cottage-cheese looking vomit (thick and sort of lumpy), it's normal. Sounds to me like wind probably. Have you tried using gripe water or anything like that? I know that helps Chloe get her wind up more often than when we don't use it, and it seems to settle her a bit even if she doesn't bring any wind up.

It could also be colic, the drawing the knees up is a classic colic sign, esp if it is worse in the evenings/at night.
I agree it doesn't sound like reflux, with reflux it tends to be the same no matter what time of day, and they don't neccessarily have the wind probs.
There's an article on colic in teh baby section you might find useful, I don't know much about it myself except that apparently I had it as a baby and I was totally evil.

Sounds like colic to me too. Unfortunately theres not a lot you can do if it is colic, maybe just make sure shes well winded or try that infacol stuff.

Apparently Infacol is a step up from Gripe Water, according to the lady at the pharmacy. I agree with alot of what the others have said so won't repeat. Also does this happen every night or just some? Could it be something you are eating that is causing the wind? Jack would occasionally get really bad wind and scream for hours, as it was so sporadic I found it hard to work out what was causing it. Finally the penny dropped and it seemed to be me eating butter chicken or tandoori. I know, I was an idiot for not thinking about it sooner but as they seemed so mild in flavour it didn't occur to me.

It doesn't happen every night. Some nights she will wake every 2 1/2 hours, have a feed and back to bed with no problems. But then others shes up and down all night and acting like she's uncomfortable.
She often does arch her back after a feed or often during a feed when she pulls off suddenly.

From what I've read I think it does sound more like colic than reflux, but she doesn't cry for hours which seems to be what most colicky babies do. She does scream suddenly and then stops just as quickly though.

I'm hoping if I can find out the problem I might be able to get her to sleep better at nights. But if its colic then it seems theres not a lot that can be done to help.

I'd still try gripe water/infacol if you aren't already and see if that makes any difference over a few days.

Sounds like to colic to me, with her bringing her legs up.
I suffered from it as a baby and have had it during my pregnancy, its not nice

I think mum said she used to rock me back and forth and give me grip water, the movement helps shift the wind pain.

A lot of people call wind issues colic, but believe me, you know if you have a true colicy baby. Lily would cry most nights from around -9 pm until 1-2 am, and there was nothing you could do that would console her, nothing would make her feel better, it just had to pass. Luckily I was able to eliminate onions, beans, broccoli and cabbage from my diet and that fixed her problems.

If it isn't this full on, chances are it is wind - which continued to be a bit problematic after we sorted the colic - and i agree, infacol is helpful,,Some people also rate the colic drops from that herbal range.

I will definitely try the gripe water and infacol.
Last night wasa really good night, she woke every 2 1/2 hours and went straight back to sleep after a feed with no probs at all.
So thats what makes me think maybe it isn't colic as it would be every night wouldn't it?

I think I'll just have to make sure she brings up wind in the night before putting her back in bed as thats probably whats causing the problems. I'll just see what happens over the next few weeks and mention to my gp at her 6 week checkup

Like the others have said, it sounds like wind/colic. You could try using the weleda colic powder. I started using it and have noticed a huge difference.

Best of luck and lots of hugs, it's not easy!
