Hitting

Is it normal for Kylah to be hitting and scratching at such a young age. As soon as your face gets close she smacks you, or scratches really hard. She will smack anywhere but the face is where she goes for.

How can i get her to stop?

I don't do anything, I reckon it's just a stage. It does hurt, but hopefully they'll grow out of it.

My DS also does this. I'm trying to teach him 'gently', by stroking his face gently. So far its not working

Yeah Spencer does this as well, especially if he is throwing a strop about me removing him from somewhere/something he shouldn't be touching. If he is in a mood I just ignore him and put him down somewhere safe as he isn't in a listening state, if its when we are playing then I say "no that hurts mummy" and then I take his hand and touch my face gently and say "gentle" to him and praise him for it. So far it doesn't really work but I figure I will stick with it and hopefully he will get the message. He will touch gently but then get excited and whack me or try to rip my nose off my face.

Yeah Briahna is the same. She also likes to kick me when im changing her!!

Same here but Tom wll actually push your face around to where HE wants it....kind of funny.  AND he has started biting me...ouch!! I think they are slobby kisses gone wrong so I am not making anything of it other than pulling him away and distracting him.  hoping that when he gets used to his strength and his teeth these things may stop.  Gentle is a common word in this house.....doesnt get me anywhere though

Phoenix has just started this... I think at the same time he is trying to explore, but I have noticed he has become quite rough. He will quite often whack me in the face and scratch me, he doesn't seem to do it to anyone else, apart from Daddy from time to time.

I might refer to my Jo Frost book and see what she has to say about it. I am using No, but he may be too young to get the grasp of it.

Hmmm what i think is that your children are all able to read and have been in cahoots with each other on their own forum ,,,

Caitlyn went through a stage of not being gentle ,i just said
"no , nicely Caitlyn " and would show her by patting her doll, but otherwise I didn't pay much attention to it, she grew out of it pretty quickly

Totally normal. What I use to do is take McKayla's hand gently and say Owie rather do this and open her fingers up if it was close so it is a flat hand and will let her rub my face gently.

They dont have total control yet and dont know their own strength. So not doing it on purpose as such but at the same time you want to teach them how to do it gently.

Keziah tries to pull my face off whenever I go in for a kiss or cuddle and it really hurts

Sorry no advice as to how to stop it but I do feel your pain (quite literally LOL)
