Nikki I have put all the kids into private kindy - for that very reason that public kindy starts in the afternoon!  Privately I can pick and choose the days I want the kids in, and start them off in morning kindy and increase it as they get older.  So by the time they're almost at school they're going 4 times a week.  Public kindy doesn't take them til they're well over 3 yrs as well.  They only close over xmas/new years too, not every school holiday.

Ooh that's cool you're feeling clucky, jessica!  do you think you'll have another baby?

oh better go, Ava's calling out, she needs to go to bed.

I do think we will have another, although my children have turned into devils since we have moved - Tessa is really unsettled and Lachie has been completely losing the plot - I think the move and DH not being here most of the time (he will stay on the other farm till June 1) and really affected them, I didn't think it would be such an issue as Lachie is usually a really cruisy kid but he has been hysterical three times today - very hard work and his great sleeping has gone out the window, and quite a few accidents in the last few days - may it all be a very short phase!

Nikki, we have moved back to run the farm farm, 10 min north of Oamaru, back into the house that I grew up in - a little wierd!

Hope you are all good

That's cool you're planning on having a 3rd Jessica.  Aren't you as well Nikki??

Jett's second morning at kindy today.  He gets soo excited to be going, and again just ran off to play as soon as he got inside.  When I went to pick him up afterwards (and Gia as she goes at the same time) I laughed when I saw him - he had blue paint all through his hair.  I think he used the paint brush to paint his hair instead of the paper.

Hope the kids are starting to settle in now Jessica.  It's hard when they get all out of sorts when there's change.

Well time to pick rico up from school - the days just go so fast.  And I have 2 sleeping children so I have to wake them all for a 1 min drive there and back.  Such a pain!

Am bumping this up again ladies, I think we need an update of the kids!

Lachie is in great form, a constant source of entertainment, you never know what he is going to come out with next, amazing what the wee sponges pick up! My normally good sleeper has been terrible since we moved but i am hoping now that DH is home things might start to settle. We are starting the the local Playcentre on Monday which will be good.

Tessa is 1 year old on Wednesday - can't quite believe it, I have just done a slideshow for her (always wanted to get into scrapbooking but it has nver happened so this is the closest I have got to) Anyway this is it if you would like to have a look.

My other news (which Nikki knows!) is I am preg with number three, think I must be due in Jan or Feb but have not really had an AF (just feeding Tess 1 feeed in the morning) so I will talk to the midwife on Monday about a dating scan - very exciting, slightly scary, this is going to be a busy household! Fun times ahead.

Congrats Jessica, awesome news! I admire those of you who go on to two, three and more children! I am more than happy with my one little angel.
Loving Jaymie so much right now (as always!), it is such an awesome age. She is so loving, always giving us impromptu hugs and kisses and her imaginative play has really stepped up. We are planning a trip to the UK next year with the inlaws to visit the relatives, very exciting stuff!

So like, about a week ago I was going to update on Jett.....

I've had him in undie for a week now!!  He doesn't tell me when he needs to use the toilet, I just take him when I think it's time for him to go, and he does go.  Had accidents when it comes to #2 though.  That'll be the tough area.  But Rico was no good at the beginning of TT at doing #2 on the toilet either.  So far only one #1 accident and that was this morning.  So one wee accident in about 10 days.  Well done Jett.  I bought him Spiderman undies as he's soo obessed with SM, so I tell him that SM goes wee's and poo's on the toilet, not in his undies.  Don't know if he gets that part or not.

Speech Therapy is going well.  Slowly but.  He is saying more words and using them regularly thankfully.

He is a lot of fun, and makes us all laugh so much.  I can see he'll do well in musical theatre!  He's so good with his gestures and facial expressions.  Well that's how he communicates with us so I guess he's gotten very good at it!

How's the pregnancy going so far, Jessica?

Hi Babe!  How's Jake these days?

Lulu, how cool you're planning a trip to the UK!!  I'm envious.

Well Ava's just woken after a huge sleep so she'll be very hungry, better go feed her.

Well done Jett! He sounds like a real character. Change of plans already to the UK trip, we have decided that we can't commit at this stage as our business is having a slow year and we predict another one next year too, so we'll wait until things improve. In the meantime though, DH has agreed for me to go see my Sister dragon boat racing in Sydney at the end of October and then go to Melbourne from there to go to Oaks Day at Melbourne Cup! So I quickly booked my flights before he could change his mind. I will be away for a week and he will stay home with Jaymie.

Hes good - I've been quite lucky with him actually. Hes fully TT'd now day and night, got a huge vocab and is the social butterfly of the family!! I often wonder where he came from

Great about Jett and the TT'ing!! I actually have a q. for you - did you find going from 2-3 kids or 3-4 kids easier?? I've found going from 1-2 a breeze and I'm so excited about TTC #3 (got the very definite ok from DP for next year woohoo!!) and I'm hoping to sell him on #4 (and poss #5 ).

Hope everyone else is continuing to have success with toilet training and language development its crazy how fast they're growing!!!

You guys chat more in this thread lol you might see me in here abit more often!

Exciting lulu that you get to go to Sydney and Melbourne!  Whoop whoop!!

Wow go Jake!  What a pro with TT day and night!! Hmm, well TBH, going from 2-3 kids, to 3-4 kids was much the same.  There was only 22 months between Gia and Jett and I had a PPH after giving birth with Jett so that knocked me back for six, took me a long time to recover with having 3 pre-schoolers to care for.   There is 2 yrs 4 months between Jett and Ava, but he's a lot more difficult than what Gia was when Jett was born.  It's much of a muchness.  I think it all depends on the age gap as to how you will find it.  Very cool you're planning on having another child though!

I was wondering if the thread was still alive. Thought i might come back and see how all the kiddies are going! Havnt had a proper read yet, just skimmed, but am about to! And i am confused as to whos who now lmao. You guys probably dont really remember me anyways wasnt that popular here haha.

Has everyone gone and had more kids? Good on yas. Me im still on the one. my partner isnt keen on chillens just yet.

Bree is well, non-stop. Talking talking talking. I swear that girl drives me up the wall lol. Shes awesome though, really smart. Shes in undies during the day - so far doing pretty well the odd accident but she generally tells me if she needs to go or just goes and does it herself. :) Night is another story, a bit scared to go there, had a couple nights with no nappy but shes not had a dry one yet so not that keen just yet! haha.

Well hello there Mel!  Nice to hear from you.  Sounds like Bree is doing great!!

Jett has taken off in the TT department.  He tells me when he needs to go, or just goes by himself.  The other day he'd just been wee's and the next thing I hear him calling out and he's back on the toilet doing poo's!!  I was soo happy to have him do that on his own, as he hasn't been good in that area, either going in his undies, or waiting til he has a nappy on at night.

Jessica, how is the pregnancy going for you?  As much as I'm envious of ones going on to have more children, i don't miss or envy being pregnant!

Any other toddlers still having a day sleep?  Jett does most days, he either falls asleep himself, or I put him to bed after lunch when I need the break.

Happy 3rd birthdays to Jake, Astin and Bella!!  Wow, 3 years old aye, it's gone so fast!  Still another month til Jett is 3, so I'll savour saying he's 2 til then.

Wow nearly to the end of August, and all our babes will be 3!!!  Hope everyones had a great time celebrating!  Jett is still 2 for a few more days.

From next week he'll be going to kindy 3 mornings a week - Tues, Wed, Thurs!  Yay for 20 free hours, not that I'll be using that many, just 11.  I feel a tad guilty putting him in so often when he's still young, but I thought that with Gia going to school in a couple of months, he won't have her to play with during the day, and I hope going to kindy more often will help with his speech.  We saw his SLT for the last time yesterday, she's due to have her first bub in October and she's not sure if anyone will replace her this year, so if we get another one coming then it won't be til next year.

Hi everyone!

Hi Mel! Glad to hear Bree is doing well!

Well, Kylahs birthday was a hit, cant believe i have a three year old.

As you are all probably aware I left my partner a couple months back. Been long and hard and I still miss him like crazy but I know I have done the right thing.
I am struggling with him and seeing Kylah, he still cannot yet see past him and me, and see that she is more important. He is all about hurting me and so far its only hurting Kylah. I have just got lawyer and I am hoping that will make him wake up and see what is best for her.

I handed in my application for Midwifery yesterday, with everything that has been going on I never thought i would make it. Writing 2000 words is really hard!! But, I passed all my Pre-Health classes with A's except one i got a B. I am finishing off the last one now which is maths.

Work is still good, I love my job and it will be sad to go, I am now in Formal Complaints. It is challenging, but also pretty cool.

Right back to Kylah, she is so grown up. She talks like a big kid. I love the random things she comes out with. She is currently into tinkerbell, and buzz lightyear!

Hope everyone else is well.

Happy New Year ladies! who is still around?

Update for us....No 3 due in September....so early days but everything crossed for a smooth ride.

Tom is going well. Finally TT'ed except for No 2s.....God knows when we will get those in the loo. He is even dry at night...was by week 2 but he flatly REFUSES to do poos in the loo.

Otherwise its all good. He is a cheeky, clever little boy with an amazing sense of humour!

fanstastic news, congrats Nikki, good month for a baby - I am thinking Feb is not ideal - I prefered being preg with my winter babies
have not found being preg quite so cruisy this time, but i guess it is just having 2 kids to run after but I am really excited about number 3. The birthing centre here now has a birthing pool, rather than just the bath so I am hoping that a water birth may make things a little easier.
Am really enjoying both of the kids, such characters and I love seeing them playing together - usually nicely.
Lachie is all sorted with TT, nighttime really surprised me, just said he didn't need nappies and that was that, 2 accidents in the last three or four months. He has got quite clingy recently, which he has not been before so I am guessing now that he understands more and it is probably tied up with baby coming. But I love the conversations and the things that he comes out with
Tessa is a crack up, but I have discovered what tantrums are like - something Lachie never did, she is the princess of throwing herself on the floor - DH blames it on her being female! She is my blue eyed girl with curls - totally her fathers daughter.
I hope that you have a smooth preg Nikki, what are you going to do in terms of MW etc - after last time?

Jessica, I am meeting with a lovely MW next week. I actually had a couple of great choices. The MW I had postnatally is lovely and has offered to see me again but even though I would have her in a heartbeat she isnt really coming across to Cromwell (She's Wanaka based) and would only be doing it as a favour to me. So I am going with a MW that works at the medical centre I also work out. She is VERY professional, thorough and works well alongside the specialist that I want to use too. I had a brief chat to her yesterday about it all and she recommends I birth in Dunedin and see an OB too. Phew!!!

You are lucky your two play nicely. Mine do to an extent but Tom usually ends up in James' face, jumping on him, tackling him etc and I am forever pulling them apart.. Mind you James provokes a lot of it. Boys!

Hello girls!!  I was thinking of reviving this thread again a few days back, and came on now to see you've already done so Nikki - thank you!

And again,.... congrats on #3!  So exciting!

Jess, not long for you now - wow!  That's crazy, but really for you I'm sure it hasn't gone so fast.  Hope all goes well with the birth, and yay for birthing centre having a pool now!  Can't wait to hear if it's a boy or girl.

Jett is doing really well.  Fully TT now, and has been for a couple of months!  Regarding nappies at night, sometimes Dh would forget to put a nappy on him when putting him to bed, but he'd never wet.  So after I discovered that, I just stopped putting him in nighttime nappies and he's never had an accident.  So good to just have one in nappies!

Speech is really coming along.  We got a new SLT as the other one went on maternity leave.  The new one is tougher and after the 2nd visit she said that she wondered if he was just being lazy, and that because he can't talk well, he'd lost confidence in talking at all.  All so true and something I've thought ALL along but didn't want to think that and be hard on him if there was more too it.  Since then I have been hard on him and making him say words instead of allowing him to sign or make sounds regarding what he's talking about, i.e. when talking about a dog he'll say woof woof, but now I say to him he has to say 'dog', and give him HEAPS of praise and high 5's when he says words.  Which is making him come out with words all on his own, for instance Gia found a yoyo yesterday which has been in hiding for a long time, and once he got his hands on it, everything was "yoyo, yoyo!"  He knows it all, it's just getting him to say the words.  No sentences though.. but I'm happy with his progress.  Will see the SLT in Feb and I know she'll notice a huge inprovement!

Well better leave it there, time to put kids to bed!

Hi. It's been awhile since I've looked in on this thread. Gosh, lots more babies than when I first joined up here! Very exciting to look to at the pictures and try and work out who's who!

My daughter Cathy is 3 and a half. Tall for her age, talking well and is just now starting to get the hang of toilet training. My fault as I had her in pullups for ages hoping she would tell me when she was ready. Transferred her into knickers and wouldn't let her wear her pullups and she just clicked. Still the occassional 'wee' accident but goes poos in the toilet everytime. Have not done anything about nighttime toilet training, just celebrating daytime successes.

Just the three of us, no other kiddies as yet. Not going to let it do my head in. Nice to read the catchups and will attempt to write a hello or two more often.
