Topic: Whats wrong with him???? Posted: 10 December 2008 at 6:31pm |
For the past two days when Jack has woken up from his sleep he has had these wierd red marks all over his body. They start out as a tiny red dot and grow, when they are bigger they are white inside and slightly raised (kinda like stinging nettle bite) with red around the outside. They continue to grow and when they are about the size of an old 20 peice they stop growing round and kinda grow out so they go almost butterfly shape. They don't bother him and were gone by the morning the weird thing is they are back again.
I rang healthline last night but they said they were most likely insect bites but I don't think they are since they went away but then came back in different places. I'm not too worried since hes fine (apart from a runny nose) and they aren't bothering him. I just want to know whats happening, has anyone had or seen anything similar?
I have photos but my batteries are just charging so I'll put them up when I can.

have you tried giving him an anti-histamine to see if they go away? It sounds like an allergic reaction to me.

Any new bedding or could it be pollen getting into his room through open windows? Do you have any different plants under his bedroom windows that could be allergenic?

It sounds like hives to me, they go away and come back where it is warm.
Could he be getting too hot when he's sleeping?

Hi
My lil one had something like this earlier last month, it was an infection of some sort, I took him to the doctor and she swabbed it and then when the result came back she prescribed him an antibiotic cream, this has cleared it up completely.
Started as a little white spot, then got really big on the back of the head, kind of crusty, and looked kind of sore?
