I rented a doppler so I can listen to the gremlins heartbeats. Willie thought I had lost the plot completely - until he heard them and turned into a big marshmallow. The only problem is trying to sort out which heartbeat is which, coz they seemed to be leaping around a lot last night.

Lol... you're not a geek, Emma, you're a mum!
I wish we had a doppler, I would love Nat to be able to hear the heartbeat, as he is at work for all my appointments. Josiah loved hearing the heartbeat on Wednesday, though! He was facinated!

I even recorded it on my cell phone. Maybe you could do that at your next m/w appt Becca, then play it for Nat when you get home?

How much is the rental? We tried to listen using my mates vet nurse stephoscope (sp?) but couldn't hear anything other than "whooshing" (not even a meow or a woof  sorry couldn't resist that LOL)
I think we get midwife appointments fortnightly after this one though, but it would be great for inbetween the appointments

WOW SOUNDS GREAT!!! I guess the only thing that I would worry about is not using it properly and not finding the heartbeat (not cos ther was a problem but cos i wasnt using it right) and then I would fly into a panic AAAARRGHHHH!
But I woudl love to rent one...ohhh what to do....?

I haven't had any probs finding the heartbeat so far, and I am pretty early on. The problem is trying to work out if it's two seperate heartbeats or the same wriggly baby moving around.

I didn't even try. I just ordered it without telling Willie (tried to con my Mum into paying for it but she said no ). And when he started cracking a tanty I said "wanna see how it works?" and once he heard them he was like "this was such a great idea"

That is so kewl. I used to love going up to the nursing labs when we had health assessment - and a few times i got the doppler out they had there and my classmates had a listen to my bubbas - it was neat cos when we had the classes on pregnancy - they had a real lady to practice on!
now, i may have missed them so don't shoot me - i've not been on here for a few days.. but when.. lasies, are Becca and Emma gonna start posting some pics of their beautiful bubba bellies? Fair enuf Emma is only so far along - but Becca - oh my god, i just realised you are nearly half way, how fast has that gone!!! come on - you owe us some belly pics!!

I have to get Willie to take one. I tried the other day but my arm isn't long enough to hold the camera far enough away to get my fat tummy in it. And believe me, it is a fat tummy!
