Topic: Cloth Nappy Survey Posted: 12 January 2009 at 9:01am |
Ok peps, it's a slow morning so I've created a little survey on the cloth nappy debate. I've listed a bunch of cloth nappies to choose from and was hoping people could check those they love and those they hate (add it if I've missed it) and maybe post a paragraph explaining their experience.
If there is anything else you think I should add here, let me know

Looking forward to seeing what's most popular!
I haven't tried any yet, but have ordered some Babyfirst all-in-twos to try.....you could add those to your list.

It's for me and anyone else who wants to know the results so that we can find our way through this maze of cloth nappies.

Please don't respond to the survey with just a list of nappies I've missed. If you use those nappies and love or hate them then please just enter them in "Other" I can't cover all of them, I've never purchased any of them, this is my first baby (like many of us who are trying to learn what is best for us to get) and thus I have no idea what is available in total.
thanks

Understandable - I didn't know about most brands of MCNs until after JJ arrived! I assume you're planning on collating the results and posting them on here for everyone's edification?

I'll be using Stacey's Foxybots cause she's local and easy to buy from and itti bittis' these seem to be the most popular amongst OHBaby's experience MCN users.

The best nappies to use those are also the ones that suit your baby best, so in some ways this type of survey doesn't work. So much depends on the size or shape of your baby, and your budget.
Also if you are pockets person you are unlikely to rate prefolds because that system doesn't work for you, for example.
Don't forget that a number of the local WAHMs making nappies produce a very high quality product but may not be as well marketed.

I would so agree with this!! I've often heard that what works on one doesn't work on another...that's why I often recommend hire kits to people if they don't know what they want to use.
Plus nappies often go through fads...once everyone was buying fuzzis, then there was the berry plush rage, currently itti bittis are the must have nappy. (which reminds me, must get me one of those!!!!)
I didn't put any comments but I did vote for 2 I love...they are both my favourites!

While this is all very true and valid, there are still some pretty specific reasons why people love/hate certain brands, such as they don't dry, they leak from the seams, the fabric wears out too quickly. All this sort of feedback is what we, those of us looking to use cloth, are also looking to know. At the moment this info is spread out all over the forums, it's just nice to have a concise sort of list.
Thanks to those who have responded so far, we are getting some great info.
