Topic: DH & Bedtime Posted: 30 June 2009 at 9:54pm |
Does anyone else's other half just NOT go to bed at night?
Mine will fall asleep on the couch....every night...as early as 8 sometimes, even if we have guests! I try and wake him and he says "Yes I am going"...then falls asleep again...then I try once more and he says "Yes Im going now"....Then falls asleep again....I just leave him there after that. He then clambers in at some ungodly hour and wakes me...It is frustrating.
I am starting to get a complex...I shower everyday!!!!
Is this at all common???

My DH is pretty much the same!!
But, he will fall asleep on the couch, and then will wake up an hour or so later and be WIDE awake and come to bed at some crazy hour!
But he also has tinnitus in his ears(extreme ringing) so he wont come to bed until he is dead tired or he cant sleep because the ringing is all he can hear, even over his own breathing

Hi, I try and have us go to bed at the same time! bubs who is 8.5 months is still in our room (mainly cause we live in a cold villa) so I'm trying to avoid her waking up twice! He knows that hes in charge if he wakes her up - yeah right. Some nights its a battle and he bitches i'm not tired ... but funny enough hes out for the count way way before me! If I do go to bed early and he goes to sleep in lounge I can a little annoyed as I'm wide awake by the time I turn heaters off, tv, lights, fed cats, get him up - he also says hes going .... Have to say though I did enjoy the bed to myself last night he camped out on the couch!

Mine does, although he's only here on the weekends, he falls asleep on the couch and snores his head off. I turn everything off on my way to bed, and usually he will come to bed, but I boot him out 10 minutes later because he goes to sleep instantly and snores like a train! Being pregnant, it's hard for me to settle and I have to get up to Sam at ungodly hours of the morning so it's the couch for him. I feel mean, but I need sleep!

Mine does it as well pretty much everynight and then comes to bed in the early hours. He does stay up till midnight watching TV or playing on his PS3.
Got to admit i don't really mind as he snores big time.

DH falls asleep on the couch most nights but will generally come to bed with me (unless it is the weekend and sport is on) when I wake him up

here I thought your post was going to be a gripe about DH putting the kids to bed or what ever like that & I was going to make some smart remark about DH falling asleep.
I think the best one is when they start snoring & you wake them & say they were asleep & they say No I wasn't & you say ummm you were snoring go to bed & they say I'm not tired & promptly fall asleep again..hmmmm
So In answer to your question...yes very common!
My DH is a builder who starts early so he's had a long day by the time he falls asleep around 8.30pm. I think if I got up at the same time as him I'd be falling asleep too?

Haha yes my partner is the same. It's so annoying. I'm always telling him he better not wake me up! It's like hello just go to bed before you fall asleep. Not exactly difficult.

It really pisses me off at times lol especialy as he says he needs to read til he falls asleep which means atm since my sleep is disturbed he wakes me up!! Grrrr...

This is exactly the conversation I have with my DH when I say "You fell asleep"!! it dirves me mental!
He is asleep on the couch right now grrrrr! Saturday night errmm 7.15pm..Caden is in bed and he falls asleep!!! So now i have no one to talk to, and if I try to wake him he will just fall asleep again, but, he will wake up after half an hour or so, and then he wont come to bad until some crazy hour! I bet ya!

I'm pretty lucky, my DH is normally in bed before me, during the week it's about 9.30pm at the latest (usually 8.30pm tho ) and the weekends we normally go to bed at the same time. It's only if he's started work around 4am that he falls asleep on the couch lol. I must be a lucky one in that my DH doesn't snore either.
