Hi Guys,
I am 7 weeks and 2 days pregnant with my first child. My husband and I are in our mid 20's and are looking for a really good, easy to talk to midwife. We live near the city... Does anyone have any good midwives they can recommend?
It really depends on your own personality, and find one that matches your wants for pregnancy and birth etc. but i would say go to midwives on barrington, we had jo ryde, she was awesome!! Our backup was kelly, and she was really cool.
Congratulations on your pregnancy! I used Jayne Huntley from Dominoes Midwives. They're in Worcester St between Stanmore Rd and Linwood Ave. She was really awesome during pregnancy and birth. I recommended her to my sister as well and she loved her too! And I'll definitely be going back to her next time.
If you want her contact details just PM me and I'll flick them through.
I called the midwifery resource centre (they're in Manchester st) and they gave me a list of midwives who were available when I was due. I had Kay Shaw and thought she was brilliant.
I am with Domino Midwives as well - Marion Nellis and I've found her great to deal with. One of the good things at Domino is there are so many midwives that they all provide backup for one another so even at 8pm on a Sunday night when I had a bleed and was panicing I had no trouble getting hold of someone to ask questions of.
Depends what kind of birht you want. If you want an epidural and all the works go with a midwife who births at chch womens. If you want a more natural birth find one who uses the primary units.
