Topic: How did you tell your DH/DP?? Posted: 29 June 2010 at 4:50pm |
How did you break the news that you were pregnant??
I just found out today that our lucky last bub is coming, and since this is the last time i get to do this, I want to do it in a fun way... With Jae I just text him and said the tablets he was taking had worked! I want to do something a little more interesting than that this time!

I was pretty cruel I got DH to read the result to make sure there was 2 lines. That was first thing in the morning before he went to work - think he was a bit stunned for most of the day.
Massive, huge congratulations too

I have seen t-shirts "Im going to be a big sister/brother" I think that is so cute!
I think mine went along the lines of "whoa $hit!" as we weren't expecting that close of an age gap

#1- I did a wee photo frame with the message Daddy in Waiting and a picture of him. Then I kept updating the frame with the scan pictures etc. I did the same thing to tell our parents and siblings
#2 - I did the "I am going to be a big brother" t'shirt. This was wicked. It was funny seeing the family cotton on to it to. Some people caught on it about a minute of us arriving but DH's Mum we had to tell after 30 minutes of waiting.

Yea I told DF in an email lmfao. I was a stunned mullet when I did the test at 5:30am before I headed out to work. Kept waking DF up and then telling him to go back to sleep. Will probably do the tshirt idea next time.

send him a rattle or something, that was my plan....when i found out i was too shocked to follow through. I when I told him i was grumpy as I'd been trying to get in touch with him for 2 hours. I ended up asking the school receptionist to go over and find him and get him to ring me urgently lol.

we had had an argument over what to eat for tea (what a dumb thing to fight about!) but I needed to pee so I went and did the test - then couldn't believe it when it looked like a positive result... so just handed it to DH and he was like 'how accurate are these things?'
He was so excited :)

No offence to your DH... but remember (most) men are pretty stupid when it comes to these things! You need to make it REALLY obvious!

I had planned on making a dinner of a whole lot of "baby" things. I saw it on Full House years ago. Things like baby carrots, lamb cutlets, baby potatoes, baby peas etc etc.
But, the reality was I was so excited and scared and shocked that I text him a picture of the test while he was at work

Do you have a bassinet you could pull out and park in the corner of your room?
