Hi, juts wondering, how do you know when baby is about to drop?? Are there any signs or do they just drop overnight?? I keep getting lots of funny movements really low, like pressure. Wondering if he might be starting to think about engaging.

not too early especially in a first pregnancy. i have noticed that as bubs has been slowly dropping this time, that i have been getting stabbing kinds of pains down my thighs at times. and my "bump" looks different. but my bubs is up and down all the time (again think thats common in subsequent pregnancies because of the stretched uterus??!!!
oh and one more thing, more pressure on the bladder again so more frequent toilet trips! arh!!!

I have dropped and the main reason i knew is because everyone kept telling me but also my bump has changed shape and is lower.

My midwife poked arond in my tummy and told me baby has started to descend into my pelvis, but not by much, I think they do it on a scale of 0 - 10 and I WAS A 1 or something... but havign said taht I think I have dropped more since seeing her 2 weeks ago, I am sure that I look lower....

You'll also begin to feel like you have a large grapefruit stuck between your legs whenever you have to walk anywhere! Hubby thought my waddle was hilarious but I am so so glad to be walking normally again!

Hmmmm I wish I could help with this one!!!

All I think I remember with Paige is the pressure down there. Like walking with a bowling ball or something.

5 is pretty much when the head is on the way out...so anything up to 3 is pretty good before established labour. My midwife told me (with Andrew) that second and subsequent timers often don't drop at all until they are on their way out the hatch...
