PNG, Travel info? Vaccinations?

Hi, another obscure question from me- DH is being sent to Papua New Guinea shortly for work & his work is the "couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery" type sometimes. Anyone been there recently? He's going to Lihir Island group via Port Moresby. He's got a list of vaccinations etc. We're struggling to find info on ph networks (if any) internet coverage etc. What anti-malarials are best these days? Any info appreciated, thanks, =)

Yay, yes please. We'd like to know was it difficult sorting the work visa, & did it take long? How's the cell ph / internet coverage (obviously it'll vary location wise though), what vaccinations did he have, & what antimalarial is he using? Thank you, that'd be a huge help, DH will be working there for around 6 weeks & it's been quite hard to find work info rather than tourist stuff.
