Topic: is this a show?? TMI maybe! Posted: 08 October 2006 at 3:02pm |
i think i may have had a show this morning but i'm not sure....
when i went to the toilet and wiped, there was alot of clear thick, mucus stuff that was ever so slightly yellow in colour. not pinky/red as i would expect a show to be. i had to wipe about 3-4 times to get it all which is what made me think it was a show..?
i know it doesn't mean things will happen soon, but this late in the game it just might??
it better anyway!!

I always thought the show had a pinky red colour to it. But that is just my thinking. Anyway I hope it is the start of something to come for you.

It could be! Mine wasn't pinky red with Maya it was brown. But any change in CM indicates a change in the cervix which means it's getting ready.
I had a similar thing a few days ago.
When are you seeing your m/w again? Maybe she could do a stretch and sweep to give bubs some encouragement.

If it was just clear in color or maybe a bit cloudy it was your mucus plug coming loose, the show will always have blood with it even if it's just a *teeny* amount - and be it bright red or brown (this is what my m/w told me anyway). The plug and the show can come together, or seperately, or not at all before actual labour starts... but yes, the mucus plug is a sign of things starting to get ready. Ditto on Emma's suggestion of asking for a stretch and sweep !

I had a pinky show with Hannah but with Briona it was very thick (didn't wet panties) and the colour of latex gloves... here's hoping!! With Hannah I had a show 2 1/2 days before contractions started but with Briona I had already had contractions for a few hours before the show.

LMAO Liz... the same concern may have crossed my mind. (Note that I still opened the thread )
Vanessa - Yep, that's what I had about a minute before my waters broke and I started having contractions!
and haha I always thought the show and the mucus plug were the same things.

I'll leave that up to her to tell you all. We will have to have another catch up when she is up to it.
