Hi all, hope everyone is doing well. Kezia put on 700g in the past 10 days and has started sharing a few cute smiles with us. Still so busy looking after her, I am in awe of single mums, I think you could have 3 full time parents at this stage of their lives.

Pugglesworth, how is the harness going? Have you come across Lucy Pants? A woman in Christchurch makes pants that fit babies who are in a Pavlik harness and I think she sells them for just the cost of the fabric. http://www.facebook.com/greenappledesigns. We have found scrubbing with Sards Wonder Soap and a toothbrush effective for cleaning the harness, then wipe with a wet paper towel and dry with a dry one. We also keep some socks (I think they are 1 year size) over the boot part to keep that clean and I have wrapped some cloth around the straps at the back. That way if they get poo on the cloth can just go in the wash. I just stuck it on with masking tape but you could make something with velcro. I hope it's working out ok for you. I am still struggling with breast feeding positions.

Hi - sorry I haven't been online, have been sick with really bad cold (I'm still sick so hoping it isn't a throat infection as I don't want to have to take antibiotics while bf).

I had the same initial experience as you Koromiko: difficulty chsnging nappies, bf hard and latch bad now that she can't lie comfortably on her side, and hard finding wide gowns in stores (tight fitting merino/wool seems to be en vogue unfortunately). I'm getting my mum to sew some gowns for me for her to wear that have a full skirt so she has plenty of room for her wide knees and is able to kick out still. We will be getting the next size up harness when we go for our check up next fortnight so I'll use cloth covers over the leg straps to prevent that one getting dirty. I'm getting used to the harness now; obviously not ideal but just a fact of life. I'm looking forward to teaching her to role over and start putting weight on her legs while standing, once we have the harness removed as we can't do much in terms of lower development with her legs out of action.

Hi All

Just had 6 week jabs here, went well, usual crying but all good afterwards, seems a bit sleepier today which has enabled me to wash some windows and weed a tiny bit of the garden

Alex is also helping with washing the outside of the windows or something like that

Lifes a hectic at times with two kids and doing it solo but probably easier than having the third child/partner hehe except when both need attending too but no difference than daytimes for most mums

With lots of deep breaths, few tears and chocolate, Im lucky that Alex accepts her brother and hasnt been really jealous, I dont stress about baths not happening - they have never been a regular thing, frozen foods - as long as theres fruit eaten during the day

The use of the words hang on/hold on/in a minute and time out has increase 100 fold

Frozen meals rock! As does soup (bought from local yummy shop cos I'm too lazy to make it and our kitchen is a building site) and bread. I will look like soup soon

Lorna you are my heroine. I will remember the deep breaths idea when we are having a meltdown. Thank you.

Oh lol at the frozen food discussion. I'd been stashing away a few meals in preparation, and we're already eating through them - am finding the last few weeks of work just killer!! Have dropped to 4 days a week from this week, and will finish in 4 - 5, so am really looking forward to that.    I guess I will spend those days cooking...

Lorna, I had my first son on my own right from the start, it's a big ask, and I see you have an older one as well, hats off to you!

Am really looking forward to my first day off tomorrow since my head has shifted into mum mode and out of work mode, and I just want to indulge it! Am planning a swim, maybe a walk, and getting my eyebrows done. Ah, what a perfect day :-)

Hope you are all starting to get a few more hours sleep each day. Are any of you still pregnant..?

Hi Lorna, I was thinking the same thing. Probably they're all up all night BFing and showing off gorgeous babies to friends and family. How you going?

All good here, just rocking Sam to sleep with my foot, watching Knocked up and wanting to be pregnant again

Not long to go now TTL, how are you feeling? Excited I bet, rest of the family must be too

Still here...just up feeding and am really sore - they have become engorged so trying to get baby to feed through her tiredness. Has anyone found any good websites that have useful week by week or monthly updates on development and stuff? I've found the obvious ones like this one and Huggies but thought someone might have found others. Or any good books?
After reading "I'm not fat, I'm pregnant" during pregnancy, I'm enjoying watching "Keep Calm and carry on".

Haha Lorna, you must be bloody kidding!!! I've gestated like an elephant, including the MC before this preg, I can't wait NEVER to be preg again lol But you're right, not long to go, and I am really aware that this is my last baby and I should be living in every moment, but so hard to do that with boring old life carrying on in every other respect. And still so much to do before this baby makes her appearance. Still can't think of 'it' as a girl, still think of 'him' in there - force of habit. I'm sure I will get the hang of it once I see her... Otherwise we'll name her Jim and raise her to be a tradey lol DS is very excited, but also regressing a little bit, which can be frustrating, but got to cut him some slack, he is only 3

Otherwise I am still counting the days at work, and starting to get uncomfortably bulky. Finally wearing the belt on and off.. Knocked up was quite good eh, a rare movie that didn't go on about all the 'bad' things about pregnancy, she didn't even get stretchmarks. Neither would I if I was Katherine Heigl though...

How old is your littlie now?

Puggles - I must catch that show! Keep forgetting to tape it. Have you tried expressing a bit to take the pressure down, or maybe nip shields? I know they get bad press, but for a brief reprieve while your boobs sort themselves out, they can be great. I always have to use them at the start for a few weeks at least, until things soften up enough to be more workable...

LSL - is funny to see you say you want to be pregnant again. I have enough children (4) but I soooo miss being pregnant. I genuinely enjoy the feeling and like my body most when pregnant, and my babies are 3 months old today (8 weeks corrected age) and just seem too big already. If only I'd been able to start sooner and had more money and I'd have another.

TTL - lol about naming your daughter Jim. I've seen stranger to be honest.
Wow - can't believe you're 33 weeks already. Not long now.

Notenufchaos - sounds like you're doing brilliantly with 3 kids. Is your moniker still appropriate and are you going back for number 4? If you did would you want a girl or boy?

TTL - I used shields for a couple of months as no-one told me to stop using them until I started going to Plunket. Not using them anymore though. Might try expressing a little in shower as they are starting to get red and hot so will need to prevent infection setting in.

BUT if we did have another i would hope for another girl i wouldnt know what to do with a boy and i would feel totally sorry for him with 3 older sisters lol
