As some of you know, Jake had a tummy bug these past few days. he wasn't able to hold anything down and was vomiting constantly...then didn't eat. He's okay now, but still doesn't have much of an appetite. Anyway, when we took him into the doctors, I tried to make an appointment for taine to have his last MEnz B shot. they ended up doing it then and there.

Today Taine woke up. he had vomitted in his bed and had terrible diarrhea. he has been whiney all morning and really tired. However, he ate a reasonable breakfast - although not as much as usual (two pieces of toast - usually three, one weetbix, not two and half a banana as opposed to the whole thing) - no vomitting. Went to sleep at 10am fr his morning nap and is completely out to it. (this is not that unusual though). So, what I'm wondering, is do you think he has Jake's tummy bug (although Jake didn't really have diarrhea, just vomitting), or could it be a rection to his menz b shot? His injection site looks okay, but there is a lump and it's a little hot - this was the same with Jake though. and I poked it a little and it doesn't bother him.

So Ohbaby doctors? what do you think?

I think with diahhorea/vomitting bugs older children are more likely to have vomitting or both, and young kids such as Taine are likely to have just diahhorea. Not sure why it is though.

It could be worth a visit to the doctors, even though it's the weekend, to check it out though. I'm not entirely convinced about the MenzB immunisations so I'm on the cautious side. But I think you might just have d&v's x2.

Whenever our Doc does immunisations of any kind he gives the child a "Well Check" first. Does your Doc do this? If he had he would have seen signs that this was coming - if it is from Jake.

You poor dear, and Taine really sounds like he has been in the wars!
When I take Olivia for her imm's, the nurse always asks me before she gives any injections "is she well?". The last time I actually held off for a couple of weeks as Olivia had a cold (under their advice) so I am wondering why they would administer immunisations, menz b in particular to a child that is already unwell...
I think that the shot would have made his immune system compromised yet again (the good bugs he has have to fight of the menz b shot) and the bad bugs he had would become worse or symptoms would be a bit more like the bug he had.
I am a worrier though, I would have marched my baby straight back and demanded a bit of something extra to make life a little smoother (an electrolyte drink maybe).
I hope Taine feels better soon, that sucks to be sick and have shots, what a trooper!

When Alyssa had her last lot of immunisations (including the MenzB), she was vomiting, had diahorrea, was unsettled and generally not herself for 3 days. According to the pamphlets they gave me, this can be a normal side effect of immunisations for some babies...

Ultimately I don't think you'll really be able to know 100% what the problem is since the tummy bug and the shots have such similar symptoms

we havent done the menzb ones, but everytime my isster had hers done the came down with a yucky coldy/flu type bug that lasted about a week. after kayla's 3 month jabs (not menzb) she got a nasty cough which turned into a chest infection and she is on antibiotics one of those things though.

i wouldnt know if it was the tummy bug from jake, but i do hope wee jake gets better soon. its so horrible when they are sick

Taine was sick in his bed after his nap, so am pretty sure it's the tummy bug. hopefully he shakes it asd quick as Jake has done. he seems to be fine now, luckily!

It's so weird as yesterday he was perfectly fine. not sure what the doctor asked actually cause Lewis took him in to have the jabs not me. they didn't worry him at the time though. he cried for about 10 seconds then crawled around and giggled at people.
