I love my husbands middle name spelt Thys (he hates it) So I had to comprimise and if we had a boy I was allowed to name him Troy, other boys names i liked was Corey, Jet, Kole, Beau.

how bout the traditional, james, peter, anton, paul, daniel, thomas, or the popular jack or jake or after a character in a book, if you like sci fi my step son is named after a david eddings character, something different... or how bout the short max, zak, todd, tom, sam or the bizarre dartanygyn (sorry spelling is wrong) morpheus, name him after a fruit (ie apple paltrow), a motor vehicle, maybe ford, harley, telstra, mercedes, soap characters like beau, ridge or chase... unisex names like quinn, taylor, forest, kelly(ey)(ie), jesse. the possibilites are endless.. oscar is one of my faves and george ... have fun, you have heaps of time.

Congratulations on the baby boy!!!! We really liked Owen, we only really thought of boys names before we found out we were having a girl. We also really liked Regan, Riley, and I love Petes middle name which is Hunt. Theres some really cool websites with baby names and their meanings, origins etc. Do a google search for baby names and there'll be hundreds of sites. Good Luck choosing!

Ilike riley too. but it too was rejected. we didn't agree on any boys names apart from jake.
My girlfriend in Japan named her baby "kai" which means ocean in Japanese...but I guess meaning "food" in maori isn't too good.

hmmm, I won't tell you the boys names I like as I might need them.
Meanings of names are important to me, so I go though baby names sites looking at names and meanings. eg Sophie is Sophie Louise meaning Wisdom and famous warrior respectivly, so for us it means Sophie will be a wise warrior for God

I looked at meanings too when I named Maya. Her first name is after Maya Angelou the poet, my greatest inspiration as a poet, and her Maori name "Te Irirangi Marama" means the point where heaven and earth meets" which is symbolic to the Ratana church, which is her fathers religion. I chucked Grace in there coz I liked the way it sounded with Maya. But I like that she is named after a poet,I think that's kind of romantic, and very important to me as a writer. If I hava a boy next time round, his middle name will be "Shakur" after Tupac Shakur who is also a huge influence on my writing. I wouldn't inflict the poor kid with that as a first name tho LOL!
As for boys first names, both of my favorite boys names have been used by friends, so I have no idea.

I also really like Dafydd (Davith) which is the Welsh version of David. My parents are both welsh, hence my name being Gwyneth, so I wanted a welsh name for Grace but alot of welsh girls names are horrible eg. Blodwen

We really liked Jonty, Corbin, Ethan, Noah and Kiyou but once I saw Kobe I knew that was the name for me. If he was a girl we would have spelt it Khobi as we have it spelt that way for a girl. I also like Nico but thats japanese for cat aparently so thats not very manly.

Japanese for cat is neko, slightly different, Nico means....ahng on....well, its a city over here. funnily enough Nikko is the city where the temple with the see no evil, etc monkeys are. Robert muldoon gave the temple a horse (real horse, nota statue) called Koha in 1988.
niko means "grin"
nikoo means "sunshine. (the longer o sound is like orange, not like book)
thats kinda cool

Hmmm, maybe I should have looked into Kobes name a bit better. Between and earthquake and a basketball player getting done for rape it doesnt look to flash, never mind I like it.

It could be worse Robyn - if I have a boy I am planning to give him a middle name afer a gangsta rapper who went to jail for rape, was shot five times and survived and then was shot again and died at age 25. Poor kid lol having Shakur for a name.
But he was an awesome writer underneath it all, and a source of inspiration to me...
