 Topic: Weightwatchers and breastfeeding

Ok, so I am going back to weightwatchers. Thing is, I need a Dr's note to do the breast feeding programme so I am told by my branch of ww. So, $65 for Dr, and $35 to rejoin and $16.95 meeting fee... Just cant afford that much. What I want to know, is if I go to WW and pretend I'm not bf, how many extra points can I have while BF? Just wanting to save the $65... Thanks in advance...

You should be able to just call your doc, get them to write you the note, then either have it sent out or pick it up. You shouldn't have to pay for it!
I did that when I needed a letter for all my meds when I went overseas!

my Dr would charge, they are rude like that (although my DR is great) they have even started charging for under 5's, even to see a nurse, and I took C today and had to pay, having a follow up tomorrow, and will have to pay, then probably again on monday when she has her jabs...

I don't think they can charge for jabs, I'm pretty sure they're guaranteed free under the Well Child programme as are your scheduled Well Child visits.

I have to pay for Brenna to see a doc too!!! $5. I know that's not much, but it's still just not fair!
Anyway, back to WW... I was wondering the same thing too??? A friend is b/f and she's allowed about 32 points (I think) each day. I'll check with her...

We pay $9 to see the doc. Before I changed docs I was charged - get this - $25 for Ella to see the doctor when she was a newborn!!!!!!!!

Far out brussel sprout.
Didn't make it to ww this morning anyhow, as I just couldn't get the kids coordinated. It's taken me 2 hours to do breakfasts, get them both dressed, and shower and dress myself and get dishwasher on and washing out! GGGRRRR! usually takes so much less time. Anyhow, dug out my old points book, (from 2000) so will go off that a bit till next week, couldn't find my points calculator though, so am winging it a bit. Fingers crosed. Only want to lose about 10kg, although I could definately lose 20kg, I just think that would be waaaaaay top hard to maintain... Going over to Nelson with family on sunday as DSS "needs" new rugby boots, and since he spent $60 on one pair of damn shorts last week, he needs our wallet, so off to Rebel sports, and I'm getting some new gym shoes so I can get walking further.

I started WW when I was breastfeeding and I got 32 points. It's based on your weight and then you "add" points to the regular allowed points for your weight if you're breastfeeding.
Another thought -- can you get your Plunket nurse to write you a note? One of the chicks who goes to my WW got her Plunket nurse to write her the note she needed at one of her baby's Well Child checks. Then it would definitely be free!
