Topic: Mummy-less Mummies Posted: 08 May 2007 at 8:39am |
I have been thinking lots about my Mum lately
Its almost been a year since she passed. Having to organise the headstone etc, Mother day on Sunday & being so close to having my 2nd child. Its all getting too much..... Everyday i think of her,but lately Ive ended up bawling my eyes out & having to hide in the toilet or laundry so my Son doesn't see the hurt
Maybe its the pregnancy hormones......
I'm SO glad she got to meet my eldest Son & we will forever remember her & her special ways. And here's hoping my Son in tum comes on Mums special day (EDD 6 days before the year)
Are there any Mummy-less Mummies out there?
How do you cope & ease the hurt?

Huge hugs to you, and I kind of know how you are feeling, my poppa passed away in Dec 2005 and he was my whole world, we were ttc when he got sick just so he could at least know I was pregnant, but it didn't happen,
But I understand that whole emotion of knowing you are going to have this amazing little baby, and the most important person in your world is never going to meet them, and it hurts, I spent most of my pregnancy greiving for him, but after Ethan was born there were a few moments of being devestated they would never meet, but Ethan is so much like he was, it is almost as though he is back here with me.
I have never really been a spiritual kind of person, believing in angels or people watching over me, but sometimes I really do feel him near me, especially when Ethan just seems to stare into space at nothing, then start smiling and talking to nothing, and I think thats when poppa is here, just checking up.
Hope you feel better soon,

also teaching your children about your mum on mothers day might be special too.....
i believe in angels and know ella is being watched by someone - just who has the job is not known to us...there are several options....i am sure she is watching over your little one....
on another note - do you have a close friend of your mums etc that is special to you? if so why not send them a card etc for mothers day to let them know you think they are special in your life?

oh an djust realised it hasnt been a year for you yet....can you go visit her resting place or go sit somewhere that you are reminded of her so you can "chat"? I think of my aunt every time we pass by where we scattered her ashes and always say hello and have a chat in my head with her when we pass by the spot...who knows if she gets it - i hope so....
Big HUGS to you

Big hugs to you My DH lost his dad suddenly when I was almost 3 months pregnant and it has been hard for him too ( I know it was especially on fathers day as well).
My Best friend told me after that my bubs was lucky as she got to meet her granddad before she was born - which both of us found really comforting! I know he would've had a shock that she is a she not a he. And he would've loved her to pieces (DH is one of 3 boys so no girls in his family), and I know that he is watching over her. I believe in what Thunderwolves said - they are there, keeping an eye on things and how we are all going.
We often go and put flowers at his headstone, and I have a wee talk to him (in my head), but its good to have a good cry!!! And bombshells idea of teaching and talking to you children on Mothers day is a lovely idea - keeps her spirit alive in a special way and helps you to remember those special times you shared.
Big hugs Glow We are all thinking of you!!!!

I havnt lost my mum but my mum lost both her parents when she was 14yrs old her mum died of neumonia and her dad died of a heart attach 1 month later (she says he died of a broken heart as he wasnt coping with his wifes death). I kinda get how you feel having to see mum go through it and she still does struggle with it sometimes. I obviously never met them but i really do feel like i know them as mum has tried hard to keep them alive memory wise which has been really nice
