Topic: OMG what a stressful week :-( Posted: 25 May 2007 at 9:25pm |
well it started on tuesday morning i stood up from feeding madison her weetbix to get her some toast and it felt like i had wet myself i went to the toliet to check and there was blood everywhere i rang my midwife and she said go to the hosptial so i put a pad on as i could still feel it and they took the pad off me and took it to the lab and it had traces of amniotic fluid in it and they thought i might of broken my waters but as i scan booked on 9am for my 20 week scan they sent me for that and it showed my baby was fine but they were worried about the fluid around the baby so i was admit to hosptial and was to have bed rest no lifting or streching but the blood and my waters were still leaking having to change my pad every 2 hours than on finally on wednesday night things calmed down abit down there finally and just abit of brown discharge i have been very lucky i have not got an affection and cramping they are still worried about that but finally i have been able to come home on strict bed rest and no lifting or streching. This has to be the most scarey week of my life i really thought we were going to lose her i have never had so many scans, one every day this week and my little girl loves sucking her thumb fingers crossed everything has healed and i can get to at least get 24 weeks when wellington will take me if i go into labour but touch wood that will not be happening

Hugs Ellen! I hope things stay settled down with you!
Mum's waters broke at 27 weeks with my youngest brother and he stayed put until he was delivered by elective c-sect at 37 weeks, so here's hoping your wee miss stays in a good while longer!
Oh and congrats on a baby girl!

how terrible, here's hoping baby stays put for a long long time and that you don't have to go down to wellington. What neonatal services are running in wanga-vegus? Are they still only taking stable babies - (lol prob asking q's you might not know) if so you may end up doing a bit of a 3stop stay.. welly then palmy then wangas.. here'shoping that doesn't happen, and baby stays put in there and keeps on sucking her thumb!

Fingers (and legs!!) crossed that your princess stays put for a while yet. Another 16+ weeks would be great!! And even though NZ's Neonatal units are wonderful, I hope you don't have to experience one!

He he, Yep Ellen, i do, which robyn? last name starting with H or N? ( am quessing probably the N?) Either way both of them have been so much help to me in the last week while we were busy, if i feel a bit like it's getting on top of me i just have watch those two and know that wow, they do it, and do things so well and still have time to support me as well which is nice.
