I like Jodi Picoult. If you haven't already you should read the Tenth Circle. Very good book.
Right now I am reading Ash Wednesday by Ethan Hawke.

We did it a couple of months ago. Two problems tho, first is that we have trouble deciding on the book (!) and second, last time not many people finished it and it never really got discussed. Good in theory tho

i have lots of jodi picoult books, dh recognises her books easily so i get them for xmas, mothers day and birthday. just dont ever tell him that i find them too sad/deep to reread - so they only ever get read once, unlike all the other books in my library i am just happy that he buys me books!
i actually did really like her latest, 19 minutes. i was reading it at the same time as the last school schooting in america (the college one) so was quite surreal reading about it and hearing about it. got me confused a wee bit sometimes. it was a very absorbing read, as all her books are. but still not sure i could read it again, IYKWIM???
FYI i think my fav has to be my sisters keeper - TEARJERKER. keeping faith is good, with a nice twist i felt that the tenth circle went around in circles a bit, and didnt answer much - it raised several points that were never addressed again. but i guess a good novel is one that makes you think, even though i like the ones that tie up aaalllll the loose ends before it finishes! where was the epilogue????

What we should do is pick a book in the next couple of days and get reading :)
Any suggestions?

I'm picking the one I'm reading... Maybe, as an idea for bookclub, we could have a sticky thread and all write a review of a book we have read that month, and discuss with ohthers who have read it. I know the thread might get a bit messy, but thats all part of the fun!

Im reading The Da Vinci Code at the moment. I have never read it and I havent seen the movie either. So far so good!! Last month I read "Betrayal" I cant remember the name of the author but it was an amazing book about a lady who frames her best friend's 6yr old daughter for doing all these awful things like slashing clothes, stealing etc . It was a true story as well. After the code Ive got "Smoldering Embers" to read.

ooh kels i read the da vinci code last month - bought it from the same trader as i bought memiors of a geisha from i have the movie as well. i found it hard to get into, but once i did i really enjoyed it. not sure i would read another of his books, as i found it helped to have the background of the movie in my head IYKWIM?
what part are you up to in keeping faith???
if we all reviewed books i would be trying to read all of them to discuss them. not only am i a terrible bookworm i am so OCD about things like that. and cant stand missing out on a good book.
i am reading the bronze horseman by paullina simons now... but i couldnt help myself and read the last few pages.. now not sure i can bring myself to read the rest of it. i ALWAYS ruin books that way!

Ok so its decided, we will read our own books and report back with the sypnopsis and a little review and rate it out of 5 stars.
eg. Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
(write review here etc)
Sound okay?
Then we have organised chaos :)

In keeping Faith, I have just got up to and past the part of the grandmothers ressurection. Slow, Iknow, but I am just off for an afternoon nap and I will read a bit more before I doze off...

I'm reading this at the moment. It's my first Jodi Piccoult 'encounter' and man, within the first few pages I was all teary-eyed! I'm not far through it, so I'm guessing it only gets sadder! Can't wait to get through it so I can read her other novels next
